Helen ChristieCastle Green Homes is set to open three new show homes at its Orchard Place development in Sefton.
New homes at Orchard Place in Thornton have so far been sold off-plan with eager buyers embracing the use of virtual reality to create a “digital twin” of the property they’re purchasing through Willow, Castle Green’s new home portal.
Castle Green Homes, the homebuilder behind the development is predicting an increase in sales now buyers can step inside the properties when the new show homes open for the first time from Saturday 2 December. The trio of properties have been professionally styled by Lifestyle Interiors.
Sales and marketing director Caryl Russell explains: “Buyers have embraced using our multi-award-winning digital platform Willow, available via a state-of-the-art touchscreen experience centre at Orchard Place and via our website. The combination of 3D development maps, virtual show home tours of every house type furnished or unfurnished and being able to make their specification choices wherever and whenever they want, provides a truly immersive virtual experience with the ability to create a digital twin of their new home showcasing the options and upgrades they’ve selected. We also appreciate that for some people, being able to physically step inside a property and look around in real life remains an integral part of the buying journey.”
The show homes are examples of the three-bedroom, three en-suite detached Windsor and four-bedroom detached Wiltshire and Wentworth house types. A four-bedroom detached Heatherington will provide a home for the sales centre, enabling buyers to appreciate the layout of this style of property.
Across Orchard Place, the homes combine the best of old and new, both in their design and construction. Externally they’re inspired by the architecture of the Arts & Craft era, while inside they’re designed to meet the demands of today’s busy lifestyles.
Caryl explains: “Our new homes in Thornton are being built using sustainably sourced, precision-made timber frames. It’s a fast, reliable method of building, with lower CO2 created than conventional building methods. We include generous insulation, and highly efficient central heating, plus some of the homes include solar panels to help reduce reliance on the grid for power. While new homes are already cheaper to run than their older equivalents, these features should help lower energy costs further.”
Castle Green’s homes achieve an Energy Performance Certificate rating of A or B, making them among the most energy efficient available. Kitchens are fitted with energy efficient appliances. Eco labelled white goods such as dishwashers/ washing machines are provided or encouraged, all to A level rating.
Caryl adds: “Homes with an EPC rating of B and above qualify to be purchased using green mortgages. Lenders tend to offer a lower rate with a green mortgage compared with a standard mortgage. This means that our homeowners can potentially enjoy long term savings on their monthly mortgage repayments.”
It's not just the design of the homes that is helping the planet. The homebuilder is retaining and enhancing mature landscaping across the site to provide a leafy setting for the new homes. Public open space, including a play area, will provide a central focal point and a place for residents of all ages to enjoy.
Funding has also been allocated for ecological mitigation and monitoring within the local wildlife area, as part of a community investment to support the growth of the neighbourhood. An education contribution of £460,000 has been earmarked for local schools, with the homebuilder also committing to providing £106,000 for improvements works on Brooms Cross Road and to pay £61,500 for local recreation improvements.
Show homes at Orchard Place will be open daily from 10am to 5pm. Orchard Place offers a mix of two-, three- and four-bedroom homes. Current prices start from £339,995 for a three-bedroom detached Evesham style property.
