Unique Apartments Created In Iconic Horlicks Factory

Posted 8 March 2022 by Helen Christie

Horlicks Quarter is a new destination in Slough, being created by developer, Berkeley, on the historic Horlicks Factory site…

Built in 1908, the world-famous malted milk drink, Horlicks, was manufactured there and shipped around the world for over a century. A locally listed building, like Battersea Power Station, the Tate Modern and the Gillette Building, it is now being imaginatively redefined by Berkeley, to create a modern icon.

Horlicks Quarter is located in the town centre, just a five-minute walk away from Slough station with Crossrail opening in 2022. This vibrant new community will feature a collection of one-, two- and three-bedroom new and refurbished apartments, plus a number of three-bedroom townhouses, enhanced by a range of amenities, set in grounds that celebrate the beauty of nature.

The Horlicks Factory is the latest collection to be released for sale consisting of 161 luxury, contemporary studios, one- and two-bedroom apartments and three-bedroom duplex penthouses being created within the original factory building.

Boasting a very impressive architectural design, the factory features a large glass atrium which floods the building with light, whilst dual aspect apartments on each floor open onto feature floating walkways that overlook the beautiful internal gardens below. An internal glass elevator will allow residents to enjoy the sunken gardens, as they travel up to the magnificent roof garden which affords panoramic views towards Windsor Castle.

The uniquely styled apartments have been carefully crafted with large feature windows to create light-filled, stylish interiors featuring contemporary and industrial detailing, inspired by the heritage of the Factory. Individually designed contemporary kitchens feature stone worktops, brick effect tiled splashbacks and integrated Bosch appliances. Whilst hotel style bathrooms offer a blend of modern and traditional details, with feature brick effect tiles, white gloss tiles and quality vanity units.

A superb range of residents’ facilities are located within the factory building which includes a games room, concierge facility, fitness centre, cinema and a large, well-appointed space for co-working or relaxing. An on-site café and day nursery are planned, with a central piazza for open-air community activities.

The Horlicks Factory sits amid green landscaped gardens, water features and tranquil gardens planted to provide year round colour – all just a few minutes from the town centre and national and international transport connections. An ideal base for living and working, whether from home, locally or in the capital. It is also close to excellent schools, colleges and universities.

One-, two- and three-bedroom apartments now available from £265,000.
