Housebuilders Prepare To Launch Churchdown Developments

Posted 22 September 2020 by Keith Osborne

Two new housing developments being built on the edge of Churchdown will open to the public on 10 October...

Housebuilders Bellway and Ashberry Homes are constructing a total of 465 homes on land north of Cheltenham Road East, to the west of the Gloucestershire village of Churchdown.

The developments, known collectively as Pirton Fields, will deliver a range of two-, three- and four-bedroom homes, with 102 properties being designated as affordable housing for local people. New cycle routes, a bus stop and public open space will also be provided as part of the scheme.

Bellway at Pirton Fields will comprise 368 homes, while Ashberry at Pirton Fields will deliver 97 properties. The sales offices at both developments will open their doors on Saturday 10 September, with visits being carried out by appointment to ensure social distancing.

Carly Maidment, sales manager for Ashberry Homes, said: “Pirton Fields will deliver much-needed new housing in an accessible location on the north eastern edge of Gloucester. Situated just off the B4063, the development offers easy access to the many amenities in Churchdown village and Gloucester city centre, which is just four miles away.

“There will be a wide variety of house types available, suitable for everyone from first-time buyers and professionals to growing families and downsizers, and we’re looking forward to releasing the first homes for sale later this month.”

Daniel Shone, sales manager for Bellway, said: “We have taken great care to design a development which will provide an attractive new neighbourhood and cater for the needs of the diverse mix of buyers in the Gloucester area. We hope many people will be able to find their dream home here.

“Pirton Fields is ideally located for commuters, with easy access to the A40, M5 and Cheltenham, and we have already received several enquiries from people interested in purchasing a new home at the development.”

Between them, Bellway and Ashberry Homes are providing more than £6.1million for local services as part of the planning agreement for Pirton Fields. Almost £5million of this will go towards education.
