Yorkshire Housebuilder Sees Part Exchange As Most Popular Scheme

Keith OsborneResearch from the Yorkshire West division of former WhatHouse? Housebuilder of the Year, Barratt Developments Yorkshire West has noted a 500% uplift in homes purchased in its region using its helpful Part Exchange Scheme in 2023, compared to the same period last year.
Despite prospective buyers having to navigate the cost of living crisis and unstable mortgage rates, Barratt Developments – which sells with its Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes brands – recently reported a strong operational performance as its customers made the most of its innovative buying schemes and incentives to help them climb up or onto the property ladder.
Of all home reservations made in the last year, Part Exchange was the most utilised by buyers across the region who took advantage of the scheme which aims to reduce the stress of those selling their home by removing the sales chain. Subject to terms and conditions, prospective buyers can use the Part Exchange Guarantee scheme to sell their existing property to Barratt Developments for a fair market value. If the house sells for more money, the homeowner will receive 100% of any profits made (minus estate agency fees), guaranteeing a quick, fair value sale. Buyers are also able to stay in their home until their new property is ready, making the whole process efficient and straightforward.
On using the Part Exchange Scheme, one satisfied Barratt Developments customer commented: “Nothing but a good experience with the Part Exchange Scheme, from start to finish. The whole process took around a month. We were constantly updated with the progress. Can’t wait to have lots of happy memories in our new home.”
