Final Straight For Near Sold-Out Melksham Sites

Two housing developments in Melksham, Wiltshire are likely to be fully sold and occupied in the summer, a former WhatHouse? Housebuilder of the Year has reported.

Almost 90% of properties at David Wilson Homes’ Hunters Wood development on Basil Drive are now sold after launching just one year ago, and a third-of-a-mile away, more than 80% of properties have sold at Barratt Homes’ Hunters Wood site on Angelica Avenue since 2020.

Construction work on the last remaining homes are currently underway, and the latest customers to complete purchases at the developments include first-time buyers, families and people downsizing for retirement.

Louise Ware, sales director for Barratt David Wilson Homes South West said: “We’re delighted to see our Hunters Wood developments nearing completion. There is a range of people living at the sites now from first time buyers to families who have found their ‘forever’ home.

“These two developments have brought a thriving new community to Melksham and they have so much to offer buyers – the vibrant town centre with its independent shops and local market is a 20-minute walk away and junction 17 of the M4, the A350 and train station are within easy reach giving access to Bath and Trowbridge.”

A limited number of three- and four-bedroom homes remain for sale at the developments and buyers can now receive a range of financial help, whether they’re taking their first step on the property ladder, moving to a bigger home or downsizing. Buyers can choose support towards a deposit, mortgage payments or moving and running costs on selected properties if they complete before 30 June 2023. Flooring is also included on selected plots at Hunters Wood.

Barratt and David Wilson Homes has also increased and extended its support for key workers – for every £20,000 they spend, the housebuilder will contribute £1,000 towards their deposit when they reserve by 30 June.
