‘Golden Share’ Scheme On New Edinburgh Apartments

Posted 5 August 2022 by Keith Osborne

The City of Edinburgh Council Golden Share scheme for new home purchase price discount is open at several developments...

Former WhatHouse? Housebuilder of the Year Barratt Developments – which operates under its Barratt Homes and David Wilson Homes brands – is offering a special deal on selected apartments at its Edinburgh sites.

Golden Share is special scheme set out by the City of Edinburgh Council to help people who want to take that first step onto the homeownership ladder but have only a limited budget. It allows them to buy a brand new home for 80% of the market value. In the future, then they come to sell, the owner gets 80% of the sale price. This goes on for future re-sales.

There are criteria for applying for the scheme but the basics are that you can't afford to buy a suitable home full market value, that you have capped savings and deposit, and that you have a local connection to area (either through employment, family or cultural networks).

Cammo Meadows is a ten-minute drive from Cammo Estate and Cramond Beach, offers a range of two- and three-bedroom apartments, all of them with open-plan living design and some coming with private outdoor space too. There’s lift access to all floors and a secure entry system for peace of mind. There’s a second floor two-bedroom apartment available with Golden Share for £195,200. Both bedrooms are doubles served by a family bathroom, and the is some very useful storage off the hallway. The show home is open 10.00am to 5.30pm from Tuesday to Sunday, and from 12.30pm to 5.30pm on Monday. Find out more about Cammo Meadows Apartments from David Wilson Homes.
