New Phase Now Selling At Peacehaven Site

Some of the homes for sale at Chalkers Rise come complete with upgrades worth thousands of pounds...

House-hunters looking for a home on the South Coast can now choose from a wider range of homes at Chalkers Rise in Peacehaven, with the release of a second phase of houses there.

Some 93% of the first phase is sold at the Barratt Homes development but there are now more three- and four-bedroom properties to choose from. Set on the edge of the East Sussex town, with easy access to both the seaside and the delightful countryside of the South Downs, Chalkers Rise will eventually comprise an array of one- to five-bedroom homes.

Right now, a number of units come with upgrades already fitted. The ‘Woodcroft’ is a four-bedroom semi-detached house type which has a kitchen and separate living/dining room on the ground floor, bathroom, two double bedrooms and single bedroom/study on the first floor and a master bedroom and en suite on the top floor. Plot 104 is £399,995 and comes with a £3,800 kitchen upgrade. Plot 128 is £394,995 and comes with a £3,800 kitchen upgrade and flooring worth £4,678.

Plot 108 is the detached ‘Windermere’, with integral garage. For £399,995, the buyer gets a kitchen/dining room with utility room, a separate lounge, four double bedrooms (one with en suite shower room) and a family bathroom. This comes with a £3,800 kitchen upgrade.

Karolina, a homeowner at Chalkers Rise, said: “My husband is a carpentry foreman and works all over, but as I work in Brighton, we needed to remain nearby. We love living in Peacehaven and think it is a really convenient location – we have everything we need here, such as local shops, and my son's school is walking distance from Chalkers Rise.

“It is really convenient being so close to Brighton for work or at the weekends, but we really like how quiet Peacehaven is in comparison to Brighton! We also sometimes drive up to London for a day out, as it isn’t too far either.”

For some exercise, as well as the South Downs, Chalkers Rise is close to Centenary Park where you'll find playgrounds, five football pitches and a café.

Peacehaven is a 20-minute drive from Brighton and is within an hour from places as far away as Hastings, Royal Tunbridge Wells and Gatwick Airport. Chalkers Rise is around 15 minutes’ drive from Newhaven Town rail station (around an hour-and-a-half to London via Lewes or Brighton) and Newhaven Harbour for ferries to France. There’s a free bus pass for all residents of the development, and they also get free car club membership for a year.

Prices here currently start at £314,995. Some buyers can benefit from the current Stamp Duty holiday, and selected plots are available on the government’s Help to Buy scheme. In addition, Barratt Homes offers up to £15,000 as a deposit contribution for NHS workers.
