First And Last Opportunities To Buy In Harrow

Posted 11 February 2021 by Keith Osborne

Property-hunters can investigate new apartments available at two developments in this popular part of north-west London...

Prospective buyers in north-west London now have a launch and ‘last chance’ to purchase an apartment in a part of the capital undergoing regeneration.

The Penrose Apartments at Barratt London’s Eastman Village development are unveiled on Saturday 13 February, offering a selection of 71 one-, two- and three-bedroom homes in the tallest building on site. Located at the site of the former Kodak film factory (a company founded by George Eastman), Eastman Village is part of a larger £1.75billion improvement scheme in Harrow which will include two new schools, 3,000 jobs, shops, leisure facilities and commercial space.

Homes at Penrose Apartments are expected to start from £309,000 and will overlook a central communal garden area with far-reaching views across the city. Every home has its own private outside terrace or balcony, and there are extensive landscaped grounds on site for play and exercise. Inside, the properties have spacious open-plan living areas with floor-to-ceiling glazing allowing natural light to flood in, plus fitted kitchens with a range of appliances.

Penrose ApartmentsThe building is part of a landmark development creating 2,000 homes in total, many with views over the city skyline, while preserving elements of the site’s industrial heritage. For example, the homes at Eastman Village are constructed predominantly in red brick to reference the original Kodak buildings, while subtle graphics in the signage and balcony screens link with the heritage of the site, giving it a strong sense of place. Barratt London has also preserved a much-loved local landmark, the iconic factory chimney.

Ed McCoy, sales and marketing director at Barratt West London said: “The regeneration scheme at Harrow is transforming this part of North West London into a thriving new neighbourhood with a wealth of community facilities and excellent public transport links. It offers a gateway to the whole of the city, providing homes that are excellent value, with great potential as an investment as well as being a superb place to live and work.”
