Doors Open To New Show Apartment In Hythe

Posted 29 March 2023 by Keith Osborne

A professionally fitted and decorated two-bedroom show home has been launched at Martello Lakes by Barratt Homes...

Barratt Homes has unveiled its brand new show apartment with views of the lake at its Martello Lakes development in Hythe.

The two-bedroom home has been designed by Blocc to illustrate the idyllic lifestyle on offer at this hidden gem on the Kentish Coast.

The impressive entrance hallway of the ‘Hornsea’ leads to the large, open-plan kitchen and lounge area, with lots of room for spending time with friends and family. This bright and airy room offers high-gloss pale grey kitchen units and high-specification appliances, with an elegant dining table and chairs for entertaining guests.

The lounge is a great place to kick back and relax after a busy day taking part in the wealth of sporting activities on the doorstep including horse riding, cricket and sailing, or spent skimming stones on the beach. A dramatic contemporary landscape painting, handcrafted oak coffee table and abstract rug add a design edge to this beautiful room.

There is a choice of two double bedrooms, with the inviting main bedroom boasting a dark navy velvet headboard contrasting with crisp white and grey bedlinens, and its own en suite shower room. The second bedroom is equally appealing with its royal blue velvet bed and matching chair. There is also a family bathroom and ample storage throughout.

Prices for the ‘Hornsea’ apartment style start from £234,995, and Barratt Kent will make an £11,000 contribution towards the buyer’s mortgage or deposit or moving and running costs.

Pat Nightingale, sales director at interior designers Blocc, said: “We fell in love with Martello Lakes when we first visited, the scenery was breath-taking and we wanted the interior of the show apartment to reflect the beautiful surrounds, with a design scheme that links subtly to the lakes and the rural coastal location. We introduced a range of blue and sandy tones with pale wood furniture, driftwood style flooring and interesting reclaimed pieces of furniture paired with bold accessories to create a very smart but welcoming interior.”

Martello LakesNatalie Perry, sales and marketing director for Barratt Kent, commented: “It has been really exciting to see the reaction of our first viewers to the show apartment, they seem to love it and are amazed at the incredible location and all the activities on the doorstep including the sailing club on site. This apartment would be ideal for firs- time buyers looking for a great first home, investors in search of a lock-up-and-leave coastal retreat, people looking for a weekend home and downsizers looking for a new life by the sea.

“Hythe offers a still-undiscovered alternative to tourist hotspots like Camber and Hastings where properties come with a premium price. It has a quiet, traditional charm and is a great place to spend weekends flying kites and walking along the beach and promenade, yet is less than two hours’ drive from London.”

Martello Lakes is nestled between coast and country, offering five acres of green open spaces intertwined with a pleasure lake and biodiversity lake. Several play areas are also in situ throughout the development alongside a network of footpaths and cycle routes.

The historic town centre of Hythe is a five-minute drive or short bus ride away from Martello Lakes and is packed full of family-run stores, cafés, boutiques, antique shops and seafood restaurants. The beach is situated across the road from development and a Waitrose supermarket is also close by.

For travel further afield, Folkestone railway station is just 10 minutes away, with direct services to London St Pancras in as little as 51 minutes, while Ashford International is just over 20 minutes away, with High Speed connections to St Pancras in 38 minutes. For travel further afield, the Channel ferry ports of Folkestone and Dover are also both nearby, whilst Gatwick Airport is just over an hour away.

Currently available at Martello Lakes are a range of one- and two-bedroom apartments. Prices start from £182,995 for a ‘Loughton’ one-bedroom apartment and from £354,995 for a three-bedroom ‘Buchanan’ house. Find out more from Barratt Homes.
