On Saturday 26 November, Allison Homes opens the doors to two show homes at The Oaks in Postwick...

Allison Homes is hosting an exclusive opening weekend at its brand new housing development in Norwich this weekend.

Located off Poppy Way, the development, called The Oaks, will consist of an impressive collection of 300 two-, three-, four- and five-bedroom energy-efficient homes, in a location for anyone who enjoys the peace and quiet of village life, but doesn’t want to go without modern amenities.

All of the homes come with solar panels as standard, and the four- and five-bedroom properties have electric car charging points included. The two- and three-bedroom homes also benefit from being charging point ready, which will enable homeowners to install their own electric car charging points.

On Friday 25 November, Allison Homes is hosting an exclusive viewing event for those who have already reserved their new home, giving them the opportunity to tour the development for the first time. The opening weekend will then be taking place on Saturday 26 and Sunday 27 November, when Allison Homes will be opening the doors of The Oaks development to the general public.

Over the weekend, interested property seekers will be able to meet with the sales team, find out more about the available properties and homebuying schemes on offer, such as Assisted Sale and Part Exchange, and tour the development’s two show homes, a three-bedroom ‘The Hemlock’ and four-bedroom ‘The Elm’.

‘The Hemlock’ is a semi-detached home, designed with flexibility in mind. Residents will benefit from a free-flowing ground floor, with a spacious living room and separate kitchen with a dining space, boasting French doors to the rear garden. The downstairs of the home is completed with a handy cloakroom and under stairs storage cupboard. On the first floor are two double bedrooms, one single bedroom and a contemporary family bathroom. The main bedroom features an en suite for added luxury and convenience.

‘The Elm’ is a detached property which benefits from a generous living room and dual-aspect kitchen and dining space, with both rooms featuring French doors that open onto the rear garden and let in plenty of natural light. The ground floor is completed with a utility room and cloakroom. Upstairs are three double bedrooms, one with an en suite and fitted wardrobe, a fourth single bedroom that can be easily converted into a home office or nursery, and a family bathroom.

Sue Warwick, regional managing director at Allison Homes Eastern Counties, said: “We are very excited to be opening The Oaks to local property seekers, and to be showing new buyers around their future home for the first time. Allison Homes takes great pride in how we design our communities and we’ve worked closely with the community’s key stakeholders to ensure that we deliver a development of the highest quality, whilst also ensuring the development provides sustainable homes in a beautiful landscape.

“We want our homes to be surrounded by green open space; for people to enjoy and where nature can flourish. At The Oaks, we are planting 414 trees and 1,830 metres of new hedges, and are putting in bird and bat boxes, creating holes for hedgehogs in garden fences and installing hedgehog domes and reptile log piles. The Oaks also has a PV strategy that provides energy generation from renewable technology and cycleways that connect to the wider cycling network.

Postwick is beautiful village set in the narrow, winding lanes in the hills above the River Yare. The nearby village hall hosts many regular events that bring the local community together, including wine tastings, quiz nights and coffee mornings. There is also a local cricket club and the All Saints Church.

For families, there are number of highly regarded nurseries, primary schools and secondary schools with ‘Good’ and ‘Outstanding’ ratings from Ofsted. For commuters, there are excellent transport links to Norwich International Airport, London and the Midlands. Norwich city centre is just four miles away.
