For house-hunters searching for a perfect home in Greater Manchester, there’s currently a lot of news to keep them informed of the latest choices and offers.

The official launch and opening of a show home is imminent at Water Mill Gardens, a brand new development of 65 homes in the village of Prestwich. The collection of three- and four-bedroom properties is being created by Cube Homes on the former site of an historic corn mill dating back to the 1600s, and the first Cusson soap factory.

Combining attractive architecture with contemporary design, a range of six detached, semi-detached and terraced house types have light-filled living spaces, redbrick façades and crafted stonework detailing. All the homes offer landscaped rear gardens while certain properties also feature an integrated garage. There’s a high-quality specification as standard, with the opportunity for buyers to personalise and upgrade elements of their property to their own taste. CAPITAL&CENTRIC has released new images of the first apartment to complete at their Crusader Mill development off Chapeltown Street, part of the emerging Piccadilly East neighbourhood. The images show how the iconic mill, built around 1830, is being lovingly restored into one and two bed apartments with exposed brickwork, original cast iron columns and wooden beams, and huge windows.

The Home Reach part buy-part rent scheme is currently available on units at The Wharf in Altrincham, an ideal way for would-be first-timers to get on the property ladder with a modest budget.

Subject to qualifying criteria, the scheme from housing provider heylo let’s purchasrers start with ownership of 50% of the home while paying a subsidised rent on the rest. Over time, as their budget allows, the buyer can purchase further shares until they reach 100%, but their initial share requires only a fraction of the deposit and mortgage that full ownership demands.

New homes at Millfields in Middleton are competitively priced for homes in Greater Manchester. The Elan Homes development within easy reach of the city centre and offers a choice of two-, three- and four-bedroom properties, with current prices ranging from £194,995 to £299,995.

Marie Morris, sales director for Elan Homes in the North, said: “Over the course of the last year there’s been a real shift in priorities when people are looking for a home. Living close to the city centre has dropped down buyers’ wishlists in favour of having more space inside and out. Buyers who expand their search to Middleton could find that their money goes further and that they’re able to purchase a larger home than if they focused on living in Manchester.”
