Keith OsborneDeveloper Acorn Property Group has unveiled the beachfront scheme with the ultimate nautical residential address – The Liner, in Falmouth.
Situated on Cliff Road, fronting directly onto award-winning Gyllyngvase Beach, The Liner is a £35million, six-storey residential building with design inspired by ocean liners. It comprises 53 luxury sea-view apartments, including two duplex penthouses, sitting above retail facilities, allocated podium parking and surf-style storage lockers.
Scheduled for completion in early Spring 2021 and is already over 70% forward sold with the beachfront apartments selling to a combination of owner-occupiers, second homeowners and retirement households.
Designed by Poynton Bradbury Wynter Cole Architects, the building offers uninterrupted south-facing sea views and instead of a conventional footprint and façade, it’s a ‘V’-shape to echo the sleek bow and upper decks of an ocean liner, with even a ‘bridge’, containing penthouses, on the top of the building. The building’s ground floor features a 3,000-sq-ft retail unit/shop which opens onto the beachfront, with the curved roofline designed like ocean waves; above this the upper floors are designed to look like the bow of a ship cutting through the waves.
Located from ground to top floor there are a wide variety of one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments, ranging from 458 sq ft up to 1,865 sq ft in size, each opening onto private balconies or wraparound terraces, with buyers able to choose from a range of different apartment layouts in order to meet their personal tastes and lifestyle needs. The ground floor apartments open onto private patio gardens.
All of The Liner’s principal rooms have sea views, as do 75 of the 113 bedrooms. The one-bedroom apartments have a reception room with open-plan kitchen and a bedroom and adjoining bathroom with double shower. The living room and bedroom open onto an outside balcony. Complete with a private balcony, the two-bedroom apartments have a spacious living and dining area, incorporating an open-plan kitchen with breakfast bar. The principal bedroom suites have en suite bathrooms and the second bedrooms have use of the family bathroom.
The three-bedroom apartments have a double reception room, including space for a 6-8 seat dining table, alongside a large open-plan kitchen/breakfast area. The principal bedroom suite has an en suite bathroom and in a selection of these apartments the main guest bedroom suite also benefits from an en suite bathroom. There is also a separate main bathroom with bathtub, ideal for a luxurious soak and relaxation.
On the uppermost fifth and top sixth floors there are the two duplex penthouses, each with unique layouts, the upper levels located in the ‘bridge’ structure at the crest of the building. While one is already reserved, the other currently for sale. It has a vast triple reception room on the lower level, bordered by a large wraparound terrace. Featuring a coffered ceiling with inset feature LED lighting, the reception room provides multiple seating areas, a dining area and a family kitchen with central island/breakfast bar. There is also a bedroom on this floor. The fully fitted designer kitchens, specified by Arcos Interiors, have contemporary wall and base units by Stormer, with Quartz stone worktops and integrated Bosch appliances including a wine/champagne cooler. The bathrooms and en suites have contemporary white suites with porcelain floor and wall tiling, wall mirrors, heated towel rails and thermostatic showers. Other finishing touches include underfloor heating, lighting to balconies and terraces and high-speed internet connection for home working, news and entertainment.
The Liner is adjacent to the renowned St Michaels Resort, a luxury hotel, spa and health club, and residents can apply to take membership of the state-of-the-art wellness facilities on their doorstep.
