Foodie And Cultural Events Taking Place At Bermondsey Development

Bermondsey is a favourite foodie and cultural hotspot in London SE1, with people flocking to find authentic and crafted produce and original art. Showcasing a taste of Bermondsey is ‘An Evening With…’, a series of events being hosted at London Square Bermondsey, a new neighbourhood with a mix of homes for sale in the former Branston Pickle factory, a converted former tannery and beautifully designed new buildings, just a short walk from Bermondsey Street.

The events take place over October in the sales suite at London Square Bermondsey, which will become the home of Tannery Arts next year, with purpose-built studio, gallery space, and a dedicated area for project work with schools and the local community.

Thursday 7 October from 6.30pm to 8.30pm

Get shaking and stirring at an Espresso Martini Masterclass with Rod and Ellie from Chapter 72, a specialist coffee, cocktails and craft beer shop based in Bermondsey Street.

Tuesday 12 October from 6.30pm to 8.30pm

Discover your inner artist at the Tannery Arts Workshop, led by artist Fiona Grady, focusing on the relationship between architecture, light and space. Each participant will create a stained glass effect panel using transparent coloured and mirrored vinyl. Materials are provided. Tannery Arts, a charity working with emerging artists and the local community, will be moving into purpose-built studio space and galleries at London Square Bermondsey next year.

Monday 18 October from 6.30pm to 8.30pm

Delicious produce and fabulous wines to taste from Bermondsey Corner, the independent food and wine store with suppliers from the UK, France, Italy, Portugal, Spain, Germany and Greece. Enjoy a selection of red, white and sparkling wines alongside artisan cheeses, charcuterie and breads.

Tuesday 26 October from 6.30pm to 8.30pm

Enjoy the buzz at a bee, honey and cocktail workshop. Hosts Bermondsey Street Bees supply raw, single source honey to chefs and bartenders. During the session, find out more about urban beekeeping and sample some delicious cocktails by the Bermondsey Mixer Co.
