Sarah Evans, Head Of Channel Marketing, Tells Us How Hansgrohe UK’s New Rainfinity Showers Will Transform Your Showering Experience At Home

Posted 18 March 2020 by Lizzie Leigh

Hansgrohe UK’s innovative shower technology puts personal wellbeing and the wider environment at the heart of its design...

Hansgrohe has introduced a family of showers called Rainfinity, can you tell us what makes them stand out from the rest?

This new statement collection from Hansgrohe has won numerous awards including the Red Dot Award 2019. Thanks to its overall composition of innovative technology, stylish design and superior quality, Rainfinity opens up a new dimension of showering.

Combining superior engineering, innovative technology and contemporary finishes, Rainfinity represents a new benchmark in modern shower design. Due to its large circular shower head and adaptable wall connection, Rainfinity offers the flexibility to envelope the entire body in water, or alternatively protect the head and face from spray by adjusting the shower head. The innovative wall connection allows the shower head to be tilted between 10 and 30 degrees and eliminates the need for a traditional shower arm.

The shower experience is further enhanced by Rainfinity’s slightly concave spray surface and the diffused arrangement of the jet disc holes. This combination ensures that the spray isn’t limited to the head and shoulders, but softly covers the body with water. The unique shower head design is available in both an elegant matte white and classic chrome finish with graphite spray discs.

With award season upon us, can you tell us about hansgrohe's own success at the 2020 ICONIC AWARDS?

At the international furniture fair, in Cologne, Hansgrohe was honoured with the Best of Best distinction in the 2020 ICONIC AWARDS: Innovative Interior competition. The new Rainfinity family of showers was awarded winner in the “Bath and Wellness” category.

Are there different shower head designs available to suit different interiors?

Across the Hansgrohe and AXOR ranges are a broad range of designs and styles to suit every home. From the traditional Montreux collection to the uber modern AXOR Edge range there are multiple basin, bath and floor mixers and showers for every type of interior. hansgrohe’s accessible-living range, Unica Comfort, offers bath and shower bars to provide both safety and convenience, significantly reducing the risk of falling.

Sturdy, chrome-plated shower bars are 25 mm thick and are strong enough to securely support up to 200 kilograms of weight. The shower bars are complemented by customised and detachable shower caddies for toiletries and matching footrest with a non-slip surface.

Are your products eco-friendly?

Balancing the demand for a luxurious showering experience with the need to reduce water usage is a growing concern for consumers. For this reason, innovation is coming from the manufacturers that can satisfy both requirements through a high-performance shower that don’t use gallons of water per minute. We’re also seeing increased demand for multi-functional overhead showers that offer multiple showering experiences in one sleek unit.

Our EcoSmart technology lowers water consumption in showers & taps by up to 60 percent compared to conventional products, without compromising on design or experience. And where EcoSmart has led the way, further innovations have followed. Hansgrohe’s innovative PowderRain spray is testament to how intelligent engineering can make all the difference. Our micro-sized droplet jet technology envelopes the body in thousands of beads of aerated water for a superior showering experience.

Crucially, PowderRain can help reduce water and energy usage by up to 20 percent!

Do you think the desire to create a 'sanctuary' space in our homes is a reaction to our busier, hectic modern lifestyles?

In a world that is perpetually connected, the ability to switch off is imperative. Thanks to Hansgrohe’s PowderRain water technology, creating a bathroom oasis is easier than ever. Marrying unparalleled design with innovative and sensual spray patterns, hansgrohe’s PowderRain heralds a new showering experience. Imitating nature with warm and misty rain droplets as inspiration, PowderRain is designed to envelop the body in a gentle cocoon of water.

With the advantage of micro spray technology, PowderRain is much finer than conventional shower jets; with six-outlets per nozzle, spray is transformed into thousands of micro droplets. Designed to be quieter than traditional showers, experts at hansgrohe have reduced water noise by up to 20 percent.

Thanks to aerated droplets, hansgrohe hand and overhead showers featuring this new spray technology are as quiet as a whisper, contributing to an overall experience of pure relaxation that indulges all of the senses.

In terms of bathroom design, what exciting new trends are on the horizon for wellness enthusiasts?

The bourgeoning wellness trend will continue to influence bathroom design as we increasingly look to water for its regenerative qualities. Pioneering developments in shower design will serve a fundamental purpose – to enhance user experience and create new ways for homeowners to experience water in the bathroom. Hansgrohe’s newest innovation, Rainfinity, represents a new benchmark in contemporary shower design.

Its unique circular shower head envelops the entire body from head to toe in water and features three spray modes that enable you to switch effortlessly between different experiences. Opt for a microfine spray that wraps the body in a blanket of velvety-soft water, or a more intense concentrated jet that makes light work of rinsing out shampoo. The invigorating RainStream delivers a consistently high spray intensity, which is perfect for massaging the shoulders and back.
