How did you get into the housebuilding industry?

I started in the industry as a bricklayer straight after school. I then went into the army for six years and, after, returned as a bricklayer before gaining building qualifications and moving on to be a site manager.

What are the latest projects you’re working on?

As a team, we’ve started work on eight new housing developments across the region in the last financial year, and we have another nine coming up. We are currently working on two flagship sites in Yate and Swindon, which are very large projects for the Barratt Developments.

What are the main benefits of buying a new David Wilson Home?

David Wilson Homes offer quality homes and great service. Buyers can expect care from our sales and construction teams from the beginning to end of the process, as well as a dedicated customer care team that will be available for support after.

What schemes do you offer potential buyers?

David Wilson Homes offers several schemes, and the Help to Buy scheme (offered on all properties under £600,000) is one that is proving to be very successful. Buyers can become owners with just a 5% deposit of the property value of their new home. This helps buyers get on, and move up, the property ladder.

What do you think makes Bristol such a popular place to live?

With all our developments across Bristol and the south west, we make sure we are building in desirable locations, all of which are great places for potential buyers to call home. Many of the sites across the region are full of history providing our residents with pride in their local area. We also make sure that all homes have good transport links which is great for commuters. As a keen cyclist myself, there are also some great cycling routes around the area.

David Wilson Homes partnered with the RSPB back in 2014, can you tell us a bit more about that?

This partnership with the RSPB is setting the benchmark for nature friendly homes. With the country’s wildlife continuing to struggle, it’s great that we can work together to boost biodiversity and promote wildlife across our housing developments, through such initiatives as hedgehog highways, wild bee-friendly planting and swift bricks.
