Galliard Homes has worked with Honky to create a show apartment at the luxurious TCRW SOHO development…

Galliard Homes has launched a three-bedroom show apartment by Honky Interior Architecture and Design at its new development TCRW SOHO, a landmark residential-led regeneration project fronting onto Oxford Street, offering luxurious homes right in the heart of the West End.

Honky, an award-winning multi-disciplinary design practice covering interior and architectural design, have taken inspiration from the architecture of the development and the Bauhaus movement to create an elegant, contemporary show home, providing 966 sq ft of living space.

TCRW SOHO comprises two main buildings which, together, will present a choice of 81 studio, one-, two- and three-apartments and 11 one-, two- and three-bedroom penthouses. Each building will have its own entrance and hotel-style reception foyer, while residents will be presented with a concierge service.

Curvature is a key feature of the interior architecture of the second-floor show apartment and the development as a whole, with curved recessed ceilings in the living area and the master and second bedroom. Honky took inspiration from this feature as well as the Bauhaus style, a movement which originated at the Bauhaus German art school, operational from 1919 to 1933. The Bauhaus style became one of the most influential styles in modern art, architecture and design towards the end of the 20th century, tending to feature simple geometric shapes like rectangles and spheres and in interior design, displayed rounded furniture.

TCRW SOHOThe inspiration flows through the apartment from the entrance, with a large geometric artwork hanging on the wall guiding buyers down towards the open-plan living/kitchen space which is entered past an imperfect oval shaped mirror and curved wall mounted shelving unit, smoothing the straight wall edges.

TCRW SOHOThe living room ceiling, itself a work of art with curved recessed lighting, draws attention to the centre of the room and the cream L-shaped boucle sofa which sits in front of the curved dining table and feature curved orange dining chairs. The open-plan living space of the apartment benefits from a neutral colour pallet of creams, browns and black with splashes of orange, as represented by the cream sofa contrasted with the orange dining chairs it sits in-front of, to create a sophisticated space that echoes the stylishness of the West End whilst remaining understated and homely.

TCRW SOHOThe kitchen, located against the left-hand wall upon entering the living space, offers integrated Miele appliances in Veneer kitchen cabinets with Quartz stone worktops and curved edge sinks, along with a breakfast bar with bespoke curved bar stools in a geometric print. The use of curves and rounded shapes both in the architecture and the interior design creates an interesting form to the apartment which makes it so unique. The generous open-plan kitchen/living, and dining area offers dual-aspect, floor-to-ceiling windows, which open out onto a balcony in one corner, where residents can sit outdoors and soak up the buzz of the city. The variety in living space zones provides excellent room for living and entertaining.

TCRW SOHOThe principal bedroom, down the hallway from the living space, complete with an en suite, utilises a colour scheme of pinks, greens and whites, with a bespoke feature headboard that spans the height of the room and incorporates rose-coloured fabric panelling with gold metal framing.

TCRW SOHOThe second bedroom adopts a colour scheme of blues, yellows and black and also features a bespoke headboard with navy fabric panelling and gold metal framing. The contrast between the two rooms allows for buyers to experience different designs and perhaps choose a preference, whilst also representing the diversity of the external community in Soho.

TCRW SOHOThe third bedroom focuses on patterns, with a Bauhaus-inspired geometric feature wall in pale blue and pink colours and houses a desk, perfect for home working when residents want to be separated from the main living space of the apartment. There are floor-to-ceiling windows in each bedroom which open onto Juliet balconies affording the rooms plenty of natural light in the daytime.

The design concept and specification for TCRW SOHO has been devised by internationally acclaimed interior designer Nicola Fontanella of Argent Design who has created some of the world’s most exclusive homes in London, Miami, Monaco and New York for clients including A-listers Madonna, Guy Ritchie and Naomi Campbell.

All the apartments have a reception room with full-height glazing, feature coffered ceilings, bespoke entertainment unit with a large screen smart TV and statement flooring provided by natural oak one-strip hardwood engineered timber. The fully fitted designer kitchens have veneer kitchen cabinets with quartz stone worktops and Miele integrated appliances. The bedrooms have bespoke fitted wardrobes and rich, soft tone bedroom carpets, with large format porcelain marble tiled bathrooms with underfloor warming.

Martina Fierro, interior designer at Honky said: “Our brief for the show apartment at TCRW SOHO was to create a space which combines and encapsulates the everyday buzz and glamour of central London with the feeling of comfort that one desires when returning home after a busy day in the city. The Bauhaus interior design style, with its rounder-edged shapes provides a softer environment for buyers to walk into whilst the geometric patterns, also synonymous with the style, create interesting focal points. The Bauhaus style is particularly evident in the third bedroom with its beautiful, wallpapered feature wall that depicts curved, quadrant shapes, in fitting with the style’s most iconic aspects.”

David Galman, sales director at Galliard, said: “TCRW SOHO will provide world class apartments in an unrivalled location off Oxford Street in the heart of London’s West End. Honky have created a show apartment which represents somewhere that residents can relax in effortless luxury whilst feeling like home and we hope that potential buyers will be inspired by their excellent design work.”

The Honky show apartment is priced at £2.36million and is available to view through appointment. Galliard Homes is launching the first phase of 81 apartments at TCRW SOHO for sale. Prices start from £1.2million. Find out more at www.galliardhomes.com.
