Show Home Room By Room: South Oxhey Central, South Oxhey

Posted 26 November 2021 by Helen Christie

Following the launch of the third phase of South Oxhey Central, WhatHouse? takes a tour of the new two-bedroom show apartment, designed by Haus Interiors...

Countryside’s £218m regeneration scheme in Hertfordshire, South Oxhey Central is revitalising South Oxhey town centre with 659 new homes and 55,000 sq ft of retail space, including a new Lidl supermarket. Phase 3 of the development comprises one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments, as well as two- and three-bedroom duplexes for the first time at the development.

We speak to Felicity Stevens, director of Haus Interiors and who has designed the new show home, for a guide to the apartment:

The show apartment at South Oxhey Central has been designed to give a warm and welcoming feeling as soon as you walk in. The spacious hallway features a full-length leaning mirror and console table, which sit against a textured, soft grey, almost concrete effect wallpaper. The wallpaper keeps the space light and bright, but still adds depth and interest to the space.

Pulling subtle elements together from both bedrooms, you see a combination of luxury, elegant and rustic contemporary pieces in this open plan space. The dining chairs have been upholstered in a teal velvet fabric with a brushed gold frame, which this balances out the solid stained oak you see in the bespoke media unit. Nods to organic forms in nature that complement the media unit are shown in the curvaceous feature wallpaper, linen woven cushion fabrics and curve form furniture (the coffee table and dining table, round mirror, floor lamp etc). We focused on ensuring the show home felt like it had been naturally pulled together, as well as pushing the space to its maximum potential when it comes to layout / space planning.

Master bedroom

South Oxley Central (Countryside)

The main bedroom design was focused around creating a light and bright colour palette with pops of colour and luxury accents. We installed a large three panel feature headboard which takes up most of the feature wall, the centre of which has been upholstered in a soft aubergine coloured fabric, with the surrounding panels in a soft warm grey. Contrasting accents include solid black wooden furniture with gold handles, and glass, gold and black table lamps that stand tall creating real impact.

Second bedroom

South Oxley Central (Countryside)

In contrast to the master bedroom, this room is more playful, and we subtly included the South Oxhey Central marketing logo as a feature painted wall. Not only did this create a beautiful on-trend colour blocking feature behind the bed, but it also mirrored the marketing behind the development nicely - showing that bespoke touch. Against the harsh lines of the colour blocked paint, we have included natural mango wooden furniture, adding warmth to the teal and green tones. Not only is this bedroom kitted out as a guest / second bedroom, but there is also a really usable study and working-from-home space included in here too.

Bathroom

South Oxley Central (Countryside)

The high specification bathroom comes as standard, including a Saloni Street Art Gris floor and wall tiles, high-level fixed mirrored cabinet in light grey, a Chrome electric heated towel rail, shower tray with thermostatic shower mixer and glass shower screen.

Pricing for the one-bedroom apartments starts from £280,000, from £345,000 for the two-bedroom apartments, and from £435,000 for the three-bedroom apartments. Homes include a vast open plan living, dining and kitchen area, which has been thoughtfully designed to enhance the amount of light and space.

All of the homes also offer private outside space, in the form of either a terrace or balcony. For more information, please visit southoxheycentral.co.uk or call 020 3909 9335.
