Show Home Room by Room: Lindley at Acton Gardens, London

Posted 25 March 2022 by Helen Christie

Following the launch of Lindley at Acton Gardens, WhatHouse? takes a tour of the new two-bedroom show apartment, designed by Suna…

Lindley at Acton Gardens is part of Countryside and L&Q’s £800m regeneration of the South Acton estate in West London, and offers a niche collection of spacious one- and two-bedroom apartments, beautifully styled and equipped with the highest specification, including underfloor heating and German-designed kitchens.

Lindley offers the highest building (14 storeys) to date at Acton Gardens, with views across West London and the London skyline, while residents benefit from an unrivalled location on a quiet corner of Acton Gardens, just two minutes’ walk from Acton Town Station, which is served by both the District and Piccadilly line.

We speak to Alysha Davies, interior designer at Suna, who has designed the new show home for a guide to the apartment: "As part of Countryside’s new phase at Acton Gardens, we wanted to meld luxury city living with those natural botanical elements you see on the leafy streets surrounding the development. We harness bold and graphic shapes and pair them with softer organic motifs with plenty of greenery for a memorable show home that represents both the modern buyer and the local area."

Open-plan living/dining room

We’ve used a striking graphical paint band to bring focus to that end of the room and zone the living space. Favourite furniture pieces include the sculptural boucle armchair, feeling warm and soft – contrasting against the graphic charcoal paint band, as well as the sideboard with a natural cane front finish. We bring the botanical references through here with plenty of greenery and brighten up the space with tones of greens and golden mustards through our soft furnishings.

The dining table is set against a backdrop of a black and white gallery – carefully curated to represent the youthful target market with a subtle sophistication through the monochrome gallery. We’ve brought through a rich golden velvet on the dining chairs, sitting beautifully against the verdant green paint colour.

Master bedroom

As the master, we added hierarchy through the custom extra wide headboard with horizontal fluting detail and charcoal border. This sits against a feature mural bringing in abstract shapes with a graphic black bead along the top. This wall effect is mirrored on the opposite wall where we’ve painted it the same tone of green and finished it off with a black band. Along this wall we have our dressing function as well as some gorgeous, oversized fabric tapestries, bringing some more abstract shapes in.

Second bedroom

This is our multifunction room, this generous space allows for a double bed and work from home area. We painted the walls in here a soft grey, acting as a warm backdrop to our black framed furniture. Above the bed is a custom contemporary piece of artwork bringing in all the colours of the scheme. Our desk area is along the other side of the room, where we also have ample space for clothes storage – perfect for young professionals.

Bathroom

The high specification bathroom comes as standard, including a Saloni Street Art Gris floor and wall tiles, high-level fixed mirrored cabinet in light grey, a Chrome electric heated towel rail, shower tray with thermostatic shower mixer and glass shower screen.

All of the homes offer a private balcony or terrace, and all have full use of a private residents’ courtyard and podium garden.

Prices start from £455,000 for a one-bedroom apartment and £575,000 for a two-bedroom apartment, with Help to Buy available.
