Highwood is the show home for a new sought-after Berkeley development in Horsham and is designed by the in-house design team at John Lewis...

A stunning new show home showcasing the latest collection of apartments at Highwood, the highly sought-after Berkeley Homes development in Horsham, has been styled by the design team from the UK’s leading homeware retailer, John Lewis.

Highwood is a striking new development offering a range of luxury one-, two-, three-, four- and five-bedroom homes, surrounded by beautiful countryside. Located just a short walk away from the bustling market town of Horsham, residents have access to a wealth of amenities and leisure pursuits, with great shopping facilities and restaurants, excellent schools and convenient transport links.

Situated close to the River Arun in the centre of the Weald, Horsham is rich in history and is a showcase of Southern England. Nestling between both the North and South Downs, the town was recently ranked as one of the best places to live in the UK in the annual Halifax Quality of Life study.

Highwood is superbly located to enjoy the very best of city, coast and countryside. London lies just 36 miles away and under an hour by train into London Victoria from Horsham station, while the fashionable seaside town of Brighton can be reached in just 40 minutes by car. For wider connections, Gatwick airport is 15 miles away, and Heathrow is 40 miles from the development.

Launched on the 5th November, the show apartment has been beautifully-styled by John Lewis and features sophisticated furnishings and interior design which complement the exceptional quality synonymous with the Berkeley brand. Spacious layouts, stunning use of natural light and a high quality specification come as standard, from contemporary kitchens by Alno to bathrooms featuring Laufen suite washbasins and Hansgrohe chrome taps.

The John Lewis design team has perfectly captured the style of Highwood, with luxurious products and furniture by premium designers carefully chosen to add a touch of glamour to the apartments.

Ben Annetts, sales director at Berkeley Homes (Southern), says: “The design expertise that John Lewis has brought to the new show home at Highwood is reflective of the development’s countryside appeal and its stunning market town setting. We look forward to showcasing the new apartment to our customers at the launch.”

Zoe Cansfield, home designer at John Lewis Horsham, says: “We wanted to make the new show home at Highwood feel like you could just move straight in; a space that really feels like home.

“We used a selection of metallics to create beautifully reflective surfaces, and uplifting natural patterns, tactile materials and cosy textures to create a welcoming mood.”

Master bedroom: “The master bedroom is based around a boutique hotel which encapsulates a refined, glamorous style. Rich velvets and metallic silks create everyday luxury. The aim was to make it feel like a retreat from busy life where all you want to do is climb into the cosy bed.”

Spare room: “The spare room was inspired by the John Lewis Croft range with beautiful and considered pieces giving a fresh and clean feel. The minimalist look is full of textures from knitted throws to the cool white wood on the windows. Coastal colours create a spacious feel and personality.”

Bathroom: “In the bathroom, clean tiling and modern sanitaryware gives the bathroom a clean and contemporary feel to dovetail with the rest of the interior living space and to help create a home that you'll love forever.”

Living room: “The living room was created around our Scandi range with a retro kick. We wanted to accomplish a timeless feel with iconic pieces such as Eames and Conran and complementing these with contemporary design pieces from brands such as West Elm and Tom Raffield. “
