Show Home Room By Room: High Street Quarter, Hounslow
Designed by Blocc, the two-bedroom show apartment represents the next phase of homes to be released at the scheme, located on Hounslow’s high street. It is one of three stunning show apartments available to view, including a one- and two-bedroom apartment.
WhatHouse? takes a tour of the new show apartment at High Street Quarter, with some exclusive insight into the inspiration and design from Suzanne Thomas, creative sales director at Blocc...
Kitchen and dining area

Considered the life and soul of the home, the open-plan kitchen and dining area are central to creating a social and comfortable space to work for the ‘everyday’. In the centre of the room, a six-piece dining set stands out; the contemporary set up highlights the flexibility of the room, perfect for hosting friends, family and neighbours for a dinner party or two.
Elegant and sleek cabinets and countertops frame the kitchen, creating a timeless backdrop. Nods to the outdoors are peppered through artificial planting and wood tones.
Living area

Adjacent to the kitchen and dining area is the spacious living area which leads out onto a private balcony. The dual-aspect floor to ceiling windows allow light to flood the room. The two large three seater sofas highlight just how large the living space is.
Working with neutral colour palette, Suzanne says: “We injected mint and emerald greens to bring in earthy tones and used a blackcurrant to offset. The balcony is so striking we wanted to add in some hues of gold and brass to link the two, for example using gold ornaments or lighting.”
Master bedroom

Keeping with the neutral tones, the master bedroom has been designed to contrast the developments location; a soft colour palette creates a sense of calm contrasting with a busy high street location.
“We wanted the master bedroom to feel really luxurious, so we used lots of layers and textures to give it a really rich feel. We created a feature wall using patterned wall paper, off-set with a white herringbone headboard, to create a multi-layered border around the bed. The full-height mirrored wardrobes and fabric bench creates a mini dressing area. We wanted buyers to be able to imagine getting themselves ready in there for a night out or an evening of entertaining.”
Guest bedroom

“Guest bedrooms are where you can be more playful and have more fun designing” Suzanne adds. “In one of the guest rooms, we went a bit left field from our natural colour palette and added walnut furniture which blended seamlessly with a low-level headboard. This almost gave it an Asian feel and added character. We kept the emerald greens and blackcurrant hues through soft furnishings. We added a matching walnut dressing table – perfect for doubling up as a working from home area if needed.”
Terrace

The balcony has carefully crafted gold micro-ribbed corrugation which enhance the light reflection and create a shimmering effect. The neutral colours continue in the rattan furniture set. The clearly defined area for dining also provide the perfect location to enjoy a coffee at sunrise with views across London.
Adjacent to the Kempton Apartments tower, where the show apartments are located, the Thornbury Apartments mark the last chance to purchase at High Street Quarter.
