Davidsons Homes has refreshed the 'Newstead' show home at the Davidsons at Houlton development near Rugby...

Davidsons Homes South Midlands has transformed the interior of its five-bedroom ‘Newstead’ show home in Houlton near Rugby.

The developer has refreshed the property’s design to show prospective buyers an ideal way to use the space on offer to benefit the entire family.

Simon Tyler, sales director at Davidsons Homes South Midlands, said: “We’ve recently commenced work on our third phase of homes in Houlton, and have already started to meet a whole new selection of house-hunters keen to purchase at the site. In order to keep up with current trends and demand, we have reimagined the ‘Newstead’ show home, offering new visitors a taste of what their Davidsons home could become.”

Enough space for the whole family

Davidsons at Houlton“Walking into the Newstead, you are immediately welcomed into a spacious entryway leading through to the stylish, open-plan kitchen, dining and family room to the rear of the home.

“Over recent years, open-plan designs have been growing in popularity, offering plenty of space for the whole family to enjoy spending time together.

“We’ve paired muted grey tones in our cabinets and soft furnishings, which create a sharp, clean look to the kitchen, with gold and orange accessories and a warm wooden floor to create a homely family-friendly space.”

Cosy, modern design

Davidsons at Houlton“In tandem with the trend for open-plan living, we have also seen buyers keen to have an separate spacious lounge where the family can unwind and relax after a busy day. The ‘Newstead’ lounge exemplifies this, showing our prospective buyers how they can make the most of this space with comfortable yet modern designs.

“We have paired current popular designs such as Chesterfield sofas, bold print wallpaper and chrome accessories with soft textured rugs, cushions and curtains, creating the perfect cosy retreat.”

Space to work from home

Davidsons at Houlton“Long before the pandemic, we had begun to witness the increase of home working, with more and more buyers looking to create a work/study space in their home. We quickly incorporated more house types with dedicated home offices into our catalogue, and over the past 12 months, have continued to watch this trend rise.

“The ‘Newstead’ study, located at the front of the home, is the ideal working space, and our design shows that a home office does not have to be dull or boring. The almost floor-to-ceiling window lets in lots of natural light throughout the day, perfect for working from home.”

From tots to teens

Davidsons at Houlton“Another trend we have been following for some years is the increase in multi-generational living. From young adults staying with their parents for longer to grandparents moving in with their children, more and more families are cohabitating in one household.

“Each room in the ‘Newstead’ has plenty of space for the occupant to make it their own, and we’ve shown this through a variety of thoughtful designs – from the wizarding world bedroom, perfect for the child who spends their evenings reading, to an elegant Mary Poppins-themed bedroom for the aspiring actor who can’t wait for the theatres to reopen.

“We’ve also incorporated an exciting child’s bedroom that has plenty of space for activities and storage for their toys.

Davidsons at Houlton“The top floor of the ‘Newstead’ is the perfect space for an independent young adult, with a bedroom, bathroom and open living space that could easily host a sofa, desk and television.”

The master suite

Davidsons at Houlton“No matter how crowded their home may be, it’s vital that parents have their own space, and the master suite in the Newstead is all that and more.

“Separated from the rest of the house by a balcony, the master bedroom contains a large wardrobe and en suite. The room acts as the ideal escape from the hustle and bustle of family life – it’s a luxurious haven.”

There’s currently a choice of two- and three-bedroom homes available to reserve at Davidsons at Houlton, with prices starting from £209,995.
