Show Home Room By Room: Crown Fields, Chatham

Posted 7 December 2020 by Helen Christie

WhatHouse? looks at the brand new show house at Bellway’s Crown Fields development in Chatham...

The homes at Bellway’s Crown Fields development in Chatham have been designed and decorated with modern family living in mind.

There’s currently a selection of two-, three- and four-bedroom homes available to purchase at the development, which is located on a former golf driving range off Street End Road in the town.

Each of the house types at Crown Fields, named after current and historic golfers, offer something different in terms of size and style, meaning there are homes available for new and growing families, as well as those with older children.

The team at Show Business Interiors have styled the four-bedroom Morris show home at the development with luxurious fixtures and fittings throughout to inspire visitors to the development, giving them the chance to see how this high specification house can be made into a wonderful family home.

Amie Reeves, design account manager at Show Business Interiors, says: “A palette of greys with hints of rustic browns and golds can be found throughout the Morris showhome, with chrome, gold and glass accessories used throughout to enhance the elegant and sophisticated atmosphere.

“While the designs, colours and textures used create an aspirational feel, we have also included elements to show what a family-friendly home this can be, with interesting, themed bedrooms and practical family living spaces.”

The first of the children’s rooms has a pirate theme, with circular mirrors used to represent port-holes, and storage solutions such as the chest of drawers and bedside tables in the style of old metal trunks.

The geometric wallpaper on the top half of the feature wall is a highlight of the room, consisting of hundreds of embossed gold skull and crossbones, while children’s names are highlighted above each bed in chrome lettering, a finishing touch to customise the room.

This elegantly designed room with a swan princess theme is fit for the queen of Crown Fields. Baby pink swan-detailed wallpaper is complemented by a decorative velvet pink swan, which emerges from a ring of feathers on the opposite wall. The room includes space-saving hanging storage below the wall feature, with a white crib, chest of drawers and canopy all adding to the graceful feel of the room.

Downstairs, the natural light from the feature bay window of the kitchen/dining room in the Morris reflects pleasingly off the sleek chrome and glass furnishings such as the chandelier and kitchen storage containers. There’s also plenty of space in here for busy mornings.

Soft furnishings, such as the four grey velvet dining chairs and two baby pink ottomans that frame the bay window, counteract the glossy marbled surfaces used throughout the room in the flooring, the table top and the chopping boards. The black marble-effect worktops provide contrast to the pristine white cabinets.

The living room of the Morris contains bold geometric patterns in the feature wallpaper, in contrast to the organic marble patterns seen in the kitchen/dining room.

The theme of sleek chrome accessories continues into this room, and soft muted greys are again introduced in the curtains, sofa and cushions, but hints of rustic browns and golds are also accented in the pillows and wall decorations to create a warmer effect in this room, offering a cosy space for the whole family to enjoy.

Located on the second floor of the home is the master bedroom, a dedicated space with its own en-suite shower room and plenty of storage space. The room contains a variety of contrasting materials and textures creating a comforting and relaxing feel, including the grey satin sheets and pillows and soft grey headboard paired with a rugged faux fur blanket draped across the bed.

The room is the ideal master bedroom, or alternatively a self-contained suite for an older child who has returned to live at home. The classic chrome and glass accessories, including the lighting, the bedside tables and the mirrors, create a mature and sophisticated look.

The guest room has been elegantly designed, bringing in the muted grey tones from the rest of the house in the soft furnishings, including the curtains and bedspread, as well as in the large panelled wardrobe, a feature point of the room.

Two large mirrors sit opposite the bed with bold black frames, with black highlighted again elsewhere in the trim of the pillows, headboard, pictures, windowsill accessories and curtain pole.

The family bathroom on the first floor contains a bath with shower over, perfect for families with small children. The room’s luxurious marble-effect tiles have calming muted tones – the perfect setting for a relaxing bath.

There’s currently a selection of two- and four-bedroom homes available to purchase at Crown Fields, with prices starting from £269,995 and £379,995 respectively.

The show home is currently open for appointment-only viewings from 10am to 5pm Thursday to Monday.
