One of London’s most ambitious regeneration developments, The Green Quarter is Berkeley’s new 3,750-home development in the London Borough of Ealing, which is built with nature and green space at its heart.
Berkeley is aiming to build one of the most biodiverse developments in the UK, with 13 acres of parkland spread across two new parks: Central Gardens and a wetlands. The green spaces are being developed in partnership with biodiversity experts London Wildlife Trust to maximise nature recovery of the site and create new habitats to attract wildlife and plant species.
Every home at the development will be within a five-minute cycle of Southall rail station, and the arrival of Crossrail will provide a direct service to Bond Street in 17 minutes and Canary Wharf in 31 minutes.
There will also be a new primary school, resident facilities including a lounge, co-working space, gym and swimming pool, a concierge service and a new commercial neighbourhood providing a mix of day-to-day amenities, shops and cafés.
Charlie Joseph, sales and marketing director for Berkeley (West Thames), said: “Since we launched, we’ve seen really strong interest in our homes from first-time buyers, families and investors. One of the main reasons is that our apartments offer a rare opportunity for aspiring homeowners to buy ‘affordable luxury’. As new-build properties, they are energy-efficient, easy to manage and built to the highest design standards, but with prices that appeal to first-time buyers as this is the first phase of a large scale regeneration project. This is an offer not many housebuilders can match in an up-and-coming area of west London.
“A big attraction is the easy connections around the capital. Crossrail will provide quick access to central London allowing for the busy social lives so many young residents crave, while Heathrow Airport is just a short journey away. The Green Quarter offers plenty to do on your doorstep too, with the development set to boast a gym and a swimming pool, as well as new parkland and a wetlands, which offer a green London lifestyle close to nature. There will also be a concierge for deliveries and co-working spaces for those wanting to work from home – something which is now a ‘must-have’ for many homebuyers.
“The interiors in the Parkside neighbourhood reflect The Green Quarter’s focus on a green, sustainable future. The tranquil nature of the development is reflected in the open and spacious living areas which are flooded with natural light, while each apartment has a private balcony – many of which overlook the new park and tree-lined boulevard.
“As The Green Quarter is still at an early stage, it represents a great investment opportunity at one of London’s most ambitious regeneration developments. Buyers will benefit as more of the homes and amenities are delivered and the site transforms into one of the most biodiverse developments in the UK.”
Lauren Colquhoun, senior interior designer from A. London Interiors, who dressed the apartment, takes us through the design and inspiration for each room.
Living area

Taking inspiration from the area’s industrial heritage, and its nature-filled future, the designs for interior dining and living spaces involve subtle contrasts. These unique interior styles create a timeless appeal, from the natural timber flooring to the white French window surrounds which lead to the private balcony, overlooking Central Gardens.
As the property is so bright, a light, pastel, spring-like palette, was used with botanical prints and soft curves. These are contrasted with sharp geometric shapes which create a contemporary yet welcoming homely feel. Zoning is extremely important for open-plan living which has been carefully considered to make each area defined and to maximise the space.
Kitchen
A stylish combination of white kitchen units and a white herringbone tiled splashback create a timeless aesthetic in the kitchen. Bosch white goods, including an oven, hob, fridge/freezer and dishwasher are integrated, while stainless steel taps provide a classic finish.
When dressing the apartment, unique, sustainable and independent brands were used, especially in the kitchen area, capturing the personality of The Green Quarter as a development.
Bedroom 1
Channelling boutique hotel vibes, and pulling on the abundance of green space in the development, lots of soft botanical prints were used in this bedroom, juxtaposed with a strong, bold, monochromatic bedstead.
Bedroom 2
Going with a very well-known British floral print (Magnolia by GP & J Baker) made the headboard the key feature in this room. Keeping the rest of the colours bold and poppy is a modern take on a traditional look.
Working from home
A dedicated working space is so important these days, and the apartment layout naturally had a perfect area for this, differentiating the space from the rest of the room. Using a bold statement wall colour in the recess gives a transformative feel and the area its own purpose. The space has been dressed with bundles of personality, and a Hockney print to reflect the character of the emerging neighbourhood.
Edwin House, located in the Parkside neighbourhood at The Green Quarter, has homes available to move into immediately, priced from £300,000 for a suite and from £482,500 for a two-bedroom apartment – London Help to Buy is available on selected units.
