WhatHouse? takes a tour of the show apartment at Harrow One, the Hill scheme in a popular part of the capital...

This week’s featured show home is from Hill, at the Harrow One development in north-west London which it is building in partnership with Origin Housing.

The one-bedroom show apartment at Harrow One is 525 sq ft and was designed by MILC Interiors. The show home colour scheme was designed to appeal to first-time buyers and was influenced by the branding and marketing at Harrow One so customers could feel the synergy between the marketing and show home spaces.

From the initial colour palette MILC used complementary colours and textures throughout to give a luxurious finish. For example, the navy tones used are included to provide a sophisticated and luxe look, while the light green is fresh and contemporary. The designers repurposed the yellow of the brand into gold and bronze tones to really uplift the scheme and provide a nod to some of the surrounding art deco buildings. They also used a mix of boutique brands, including Scandinavian brands such as Monograph and Meraki to give an eclectic and contemporary feel.

Harrow OneEntrance Hall – The hallway welcomes potential buyers with a striking piece of artwork, designed by MILC Interiors to encapsulate the brand colours in an abstract way. It also features a large double door with storage, which also houses the washing machine.

Harrow OneKitchen/dining area and living room – The neutral tones of the kitchen create a contemporary space, which features integrated appliances and is complete with soft furnishings to add to the homely feel of the apartment. The dining area features a marble-effect table and artwork to inject colour.

Light green is used on one of the walls to keep the space fresh and contemporary. The gold finishing on the furniture retains the ‘upmarket’ feel of the apartment and is a nod to the surrounding art deco buildings. The deep navy tones of the sofa were chosen to portray the luxurious and sophisticated elements of the design. The large window keeps the space flooded with light and a door leads to the balcony. The living and entertaining space is the focus point of the apartment to reflect the lifestyle of both first-time buyers and downsizers who predominately use their reception spaces for entertaining with friends and family. The core furniture pieces each have an eye-catching element with a variation of design styles, the soft accessories, lighting and styling provided to add warmth to the space to give a rich and lived in feel. The additional of the greenery throughout also reflects and promotes the house plant trend seen in recent months.

Harrow OneBedroom – The bedroom has a spacious feel, which is complimented by the mirrored wardrobes. The feature wallpaper on one wall is textured and shimmers in the light, giving a unique feel to the room. The bedroom features a stylish desk space to show buyers how they could work from home in this space. The bedroom also features access to the balcony.

Harrow OneHarrow One is on St John's Road, Harrow and is delivering a range of studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments across two buildings around a landscaped courtyard garden. One-bedroom apartments are available from £285,000, with London Help to Buy available.
