CALA Homes Launches David Stow Show Apartment

Posted 4 November 2021 by Helen Christie

Award-winning housebuilder CALA Homes has unveiled its luxurious new show apartment at Jordanhill Park...

The show apartment is set within Glasgow’s former teaching college, the David Stow Building at Jordanhill Park.

Renowned interior designer, Eileen Kesson, and her team at Envision have passed with flying colours on executing a uniquely stylish design brief.

With style inspired by the lush green parkland and tranquil open space of Jordanhill Park, and the grand scale of the century-old building itself, the two-bedroom apartment is flooded with light thanks to its fully restored crittall-style windows and has an enviable view out the vistas of the parkland.

The outdoor setting informs the rich colour palette, which features soft greens, earth tones and sandstone – whilst a blend of classic finishes and quirky, characterful touches play on the individuality of the apartments, showcasing how different buyers can style their chosen plots.

Standout features adorn the rooms, with two vivid wall coverings taking centre stage in each of the apartment’s bedrooms – from rich, emerald-green parquet in the main bedroom and textured, leaf print paper in the guest bedroom.

The open plan kitchen and living area, with views out to the parkland beyond, features moss green wall units which tie in seamlessly with the studded barstools in ombré weave fabric, whilst guests entering the apartment will be greeted with a chic vintage mirror positioned over a concrete console with sleek, clean lines.

Eileen Kesson, interior designer for Envision, says: “It’s a real delight to work on styling a showhome like the apartment within the David Stow. Not only is the building itself absolutely iconic in Glasgow, with an illustrious history, it’s also visually stunning and set within a beautiful area. Each of these elements really inspired the interiors – from the colour palette through to the furnishings and final touches.

“We were conscious that each of the apartments within the collection is going to be unique, so we wanted to give buyers some food for thought, whether they decide to play up the classic grandeur or go down a more contemporary route. The collection really has so much potential when it comes to interior design.”

Liana Canavan, sales and marketing director for CALA Homes (West), says: “The unveiling of the show apartment at the David Stow is a landmark moment for our flagship development at Jordanhill Park, and the finished result is absolutely breath-taking.

“As well as the restoration of the building itself being a real labour of love from a construction perspective, Eileen and the team at Envision have taken great care to showcase the existing features in all their glory whilst adding the perfect furnishings, wall coverings and key pieces to inspire potential buyers who pay us a visit.

“We’re receiving some fantastic feedback already and we’re sure the David Stow Collection will continue to build in popularity, so I would encourage anyone considering a move to this stunning location to contact our sales team and arrange an appointment to see the building, and the show apartment, for themselves.”

The first release at the David Stow Collection at Jordanhill Park consists of a range of one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments with prices starting from £315,000. The show apartment and sales suite are open from 10am-6pm Monday to Friday and 10am-5.30pm Saturday and Sunday.
