About St Edward

St Edward is a joint venture company owned by Berkeley and the Prudential Assurance Company. St Edward has developments across London and the South of England and looks to create sustainable, residential, commercial and mixed-use schemes, bringing a new lease of life to former brownfield sites.

Hartland Village in Fleet, Hampshire, offers 1,500 homes along with a village centre providing 20,000 sq ft for commercial and community use. The development is intertwined with a 70-acre country park and a new two-form primary school. The foundations of the homes have been built using recycled materials from the previously occupied brownfield site. Building has been carried out using an electric zero emissions digger. Other developments include Green Park Village, Kensington Row and Royal Warwick Square

St Edward Homes has won several awards over the years, including four prestigious WhatHouse? Awards. St Edward Homes development, 190 Strand in Westminster was awarded Silver in 2017 for Best Development, and in 2014, won Gold for Best Landscape Design at Stanmore Place and Silver for Best Development, also for Stanmore Place. Most recently, they took home Gold in the Best Public Realm category for Hartland Village at the WhatHouse? Awards 2022.

This venture combines the expertise of Berkeley and PRUPIM, a subsidiary of Prudential's investment arm, which will manage the Prudential Assurance Company's interests. The powerful combination of the two companies' strengths and complementary skills provides a strong vehicle for delivering unique residentially-led developments.

In October 2013, Trinity Hospice was selected by St Edward Homes employees to be their chosen charity and corporate partner.

Award Comments
If ever there was an example of placemaking writ large with community engagement at its heart, it is Hartland Village in Hampshire.
Village is often not much more than a marketing term, but St Edward, part of the Berkeley Group, set out to frame the 1500- home development as not just a collection of new houses, but a fresh social hub, transforming a 135-acre brownfield site where jet engines for Concorde were once developed.
