WhatHouse? Awards 2021: The Winners Announced

Posted 20 November 2021 by Keith Osborne

Britain's best new homes and housebuilders have been announced at the industry-leading WhatHouse? Awards 2021...

The very best new homes and housebuilders in Britain have been honoured today at the WhatHouse? Awards 2021, which took place at the Grosvenor House Hotel on London’s Park Lane.

In a ceremony hosted by Clare Balding and Sir Chris Hoy, Hayfield was crowned Housebuilder of the Year, the most prestigious accolade in the new homes industry.

As well as winning the blue riband Housebuilder of the Year title, Hayfield won Gold for Best Medium Housebuilder and Best Public Realm categories, and Bronze for Best Interior Design at its Hayfield Wood development in Wiltshire.

Andy Morris, managing director of Hayfield, said: “We are ecstatic and immensely proud to have been awarded Housebuilder of the Year at the 41st WhatHouse? Awards! This accolade is usually awarded to a housebuilder that has been established for a lot longer than our five years. This ‘best of the best’ award is fiercely contested, so we feel very honoured to have received such glowing praise from the panel of industry judges.”

Berkeley Group was named Best Large Housebuilder and Quinn Homes Best Small Housebuilder. The Housing Association of the Year title was won by The Hyde Group. Developer Greenland received Awards in five categories for its Ram Quarter scheme in Wandsworth, south London, while other multi-Award winners include Dandara, Hill, Barratt London, Berkeley Group and Elite NuGEN.

The judges said: “It has been an absolute delight to witness such well deserving housebuilders and individuals receive their accolades at the WhatHouse? Awards today. Each winner was selected for the outstanding variety, quality, boldness, and integrity of the homes they create. Their accomplishments are even more laudable given the events of the last 18 months and the brutality of the pandemic across all lives and all businesses. We are confident that the winners will use these awards as a symbol of prestige and excellence, the ultimate sales and marketing edge over their competitors and a reassurance to buyers that they are purchasing from Britain’s very best housebuilders.”
