An Instinctive Choice For A Dream Home

Posted 2 December 2021 by Keith Osborne

An intensive Oxfordshire home search ended when a show house provided instant appeal to a young family...

After viewing 20 houses across Oxfordshire in one weekend, a couple relocating from Hertfordshire knew they had found their dream home after just ten seconds of stepping inside.

Jorgina and Sean, and their daughter, Deanna, moved into Redrow Thames Valley’s family-friendly, four-bedroom ‘Richmond’ house type at Blaise Park in June 2021.

Rocket scientist Sean was starting a new job in Harwell and, as a result, the family decided to move to Oxfordshire. The couple had previously lived on a new build development in Hertfordshire, where they formed a close relationship with their neighbours, and were keen to place a strong community feel at the top of their search criteria.

Through their love for space, Sean and Jorgina met while working in the satellite industry in 2010. Jorgina now works for a top English Premier League club, regularly commuting to London, Manchester and overseas, meaning the couple were keen to find a development in the region that also had quick, commutable routes to London, and with good transport links to Heathrow and the rail network.

Visiting Blaise Park, Sean and Jorgina were immediately impressed by Redrow’s design and overall approach. Jorgina said: “We had seen so many houses from different developers, and the Heritage collection from Redrow was in a different league. The bedrooms were all generously sized, and the exterior design of each property was picture perfect.

“We were keen to start with a blank canvas so that we could make our next house truly our home. We have previously lived on a new build development and loved the community feel that comes when people all share a similar experience at the same time.”

Blaise Park case studySean and Jorgina were originally considering the five-bedroom ‘Marlborough’, but instantly fell in love with the ‘Richmond’ show home when visiting the development.

Jorgina added: “It was like love at first sight. Sean was still taking his shoes off when, just ten seconds after walking through the door of the ‘Richmond’, I shouted ‘we are buying this one!’. We were so eager in fact, that although we were originally waiting for our existing property to sell, we were convinced that we might lose the plot we wanted. With this in mind, we changed our financial arrangements, so that we weren’t dependent on the sale going through to secure the new property.

“Since moving in, we have quickly settled into life in Oxfordshire – things couldn’t be more perfect. Each time we walk through the front door, we smile and we feel privileged to call this our home. It truly is our dream house.”

Blaise Park offers the ideal balance of rural living and great connections to surrounding towns, including Abingdon and Didcot. The centre of Oxford is just 11 miles away from the development, and the nearby Didcot Parkway train station means you can travel to Reading or Swindon in around 15 minutes, Oxford in 30 minutes, and London Paddington in less than an hour.

With a primary school on the doorstep, and a brand-new secondary school nearby, the development couldn’t be more convenient for families, and is perfect for couples looking to find their forever home.

Prices at Blaise Park currently start at £480,000 for a range of three- and four-bedroom homes. Find out more at www.redrow.co.uk.
