College Hill Park has 153 homes, some of which are available on special discounted prices to qualifying local buyers...

Persimmon Homes has unveiled a brand new show home at a popular Buxton development.

College Hill Park on Burlow Road is a collection of 153 three- and four-bedroom properties located on the site of the former High Peak College at Harpur Hill.

The new show home is a flexible three-bed semi-detached ‘Danbury’ house type that features an open-plan kitchen/breakfast room with garden access, front-aspect living room, first bedroom with en suite and storage and first-floor lifestyle room perfect for a home office.

College Hill ParkDave Hodgson, sales director for Persimmon Homes North West, said: “College Hill Park is an exciting development for us, and we look forward to welcoming visitors to our fantastic new show home. It’s one thing looking at plans, but a development really comes to life when people can step inside a show home to get an idea of what is on offer.

“The development is proving to be a real property hotspot with buyers looking to relocate to the area, or existing homeowners looking to stay, with something to suit every type of buyer.”

Hill Park is on the doorstep of the Peak District National Park, and the local primary school is less than a mile away. The development has been designed to meet the needs of first-time buyers, growing families and people moving up the property ladder.

Persimmon have teamed up with High Peak Borough Council to offer affordable homeownership opportunities on 26 of the properties, available for 80% of their market value to local people who meet the required eligibility criteria. That means that a three-bedroom, three-storey ‘Moseley’, advertised for sale on the Persimmon website for £165,995, is available through the scheme for just £132,796. A range of three-bedroom semi-detached and three-bedroom terraced homes are included.

College Hill ParkDave Hodgson added: “There are a number of government schemes that make homes affordable, but the High Peak Borough Council scheme targets local people, giving them a helping hand to buy a home within their own community.

“It is a brilliant scheme and the feedback we have had is that it’s a quick, straightforward and hassle-free way to become a homeowner in your home town.”

To qualify, buyers need to live, work or have a family connection within the Buxton area and be a first-time buyer aged between 23 and 40.

Full market prices at College Hill Park start at £165,995
