With housebuilders working hard on starting new projects and making progress on existing ones, catching up their completions after the long period of cold and wet weather earlier this year, there’s plenty happening in launches, offers and events in the new homes market right now.
A flying start at Glasgow development
Just half the homes at the Calderpark Gardens development in east Glasgow remain for sale, following brisk business since its launch at the beginning of March, though buyers can still choose from a number of three- and four-bedroom house types there.
This first-ever development by Briar Homes, the new private housebuilding arm of family-run social housing provider AS Homes (Scotland) is located in Broomhouse, near Baillieston, has a show home set to open in July but there has already been considerable interest. However, potential purchasers, still have a range of homes to consider, with prices starting at £220,000 for a three-bedroom detached house and £285,000 for and four-bedroom home.
Paul Kelly, managing director of Briar Homes, says: “We’re very pleased with the level of reservations so far at Calderpark Gardens, especially since we launched our sales centre just after the Beast from the East hit! Luckily the snow didn’t put our buyers off, with several homes being reserved on the very first weekend. We’re now working towards the opening of our Juniper show home in July, and have appointed the very talented Eileen Kesson, of Envision Interior Design, to ensure this will be a stunning example of how our new homes can look. We’re also looking forward to welcoming our very first Calderpark residents to their new homes in August.”
Baillieston and Mount Vernon railway stations are short walk away from Calderpark Gardens, offering a journey time of under 20 minutes into the city centre, with a local Park & Ride facility planned for introduction in the near future. Residents will also be just a few minutes’ drive from the M73, M74 and M8 motorways.
