With spring comes a flurry of activity across the new homes market and as this week’s News in Brief shows, there are many launches and events taking place, and special offers to homebuyers, at developments located around the UK…


Three new Warwickshire launches from Spitfire

Spitfire Bespoke Homes is launching three exclusive new developments across the Warwickshire this month, which will be offering a variety of house types likely to attract a wide spectrum of house-hunters in the region.

The new additions to the company’s portfolio are: Upper Acres in the village of Ettington, a few miles south-east of Stratford-upon-Avon; Regents Green in Royal Leamington Spa; and in Warwick, within the grounds of the Grade II listed Haseley Manor. Together, they offer everything from a one-bedroom apartment to five-bedroom detached houses in a range of styles and with an impressive interior specification.

A pair of grand new homes comes to Oxfordshire

'Clarendon House' and 'Hampden House' (Rectory Homes)Rectory Homes has announced the launch of two contemporary, barn-style, five-bedroom houses in the village of Moreton, Oxfordshire, which mix refined design in a countryside location with easy commutability into and out of London.

Second phase of apartments unveiled at luxury Glasgow site

Following a successful Weavers Court first phase, CALA Homes has now released a second collection of luxury apartments for sale at its 21 Mansionhouse Road development in Langside, the southern suburb of Glasgow.

The Moray View building is the next part of a project that will feature 101 luxury one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments and penthouses across three separate buildings, with some residents treated to great views across the city and to the west. Moray View offers a choice of three different apartment types: the one-bedroom ‘Argyle’; the two-bedroom ‘Mackintosh’; and the three-bedroom ‘Burrell’. All are likely to appeal to young professionals, couples, families and downsizers. A show home will be open soon.

Launch of Reading’s tallest residential tower

CNM Estates has launched Verto, an 18-storey tower in the centre of Reading, Berkshire that is now the town’s tallest ever residential project, and will provide a mix of one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments.

Verto is a mixed-use development which will provide 103 properties, with around 20 already reserved by keen buyers and investors. Properties vary from 461 sq ft to 1,349 sq ft, with prices starting from £262,250. The interior specification includes underfloor heating, fitted kitchens with a range of built-in appliances, hardwood oak engineered flooring and carpets and for some, private balconies and terraces to give residents enviable views of the River Kennet, the town skyline and the countryside beyond. Parking spaces can also be acquired by arrangement.

Development  launch near Market Harborough this Saturday

Saturday 21 April sees the launch of a brand new development in Great Bowden, a mile from Market Harborough, Leicestershire, as Mulberry Homes unveils Hursley Park, which will provide 50 units to one of the best places to live in the East Midlands region.

Visitors to the opening weekend will be able to see details of all the properties coming to the development and take a  look at a show home demonstrating the specification and design buyers can expect. Incentives on offer from Barratt Developments at sites in Scotland

Dovecote MillBarratt Homes and David Wilson Homes are both offering a range of incentives to homebuyers on some plots at their sites across the Lothians and Fife, with a collection of three- and four-bedroom homes due for completion in June and July, before the summer holidays begin.

At Kilns Gait in south Edinburgh, the final pair of three-bedroom ‘Brodie’ terraced propertiess, which come with a front kitchen and rear lounge with dining area leading to the rear garden, both come with ‘extras’ over the standard specification, are offered with Part Exchange and are available from £223,995; two upgraded, four-bedroom detached ‘Fernie’ houses at Langdale View in Kirkcaldy, which have a utility room and integral garage, are priced from £223,995 and are also offered on Part Exchange; the DWH @ Liberton Grange development in south Edinburgh has a number of homes currently available with up to £11,000 worth of extras as well as Part Exchange, with a four-bedroom ‘Drumoig’ home available from £415,995; and the four-bedroom detached ‘Balbardie’ house type, which has a study, spacious lounge, utility room and a good-sized kitchen/dining room, is just one of the homes at Dovecot Mill, Haddington and it comes with free flooring, a number of other extras including the option of Part Exchange, and is available from £354,995.

New Shared Ownership properties now offered in Canada Water development

L&Q is launching the next phase of Shared Ownership homes at Quebec Quarter, its flagship development in Canada Water, in the London Borough of Southwark, with a collection of 15 one-bedroom apartments it believes are perfect for young couples and professional singles.

All these come with floor-to-ceiling windows and a private balcony on a development that has an abundance of open space in the form of landscaped grounds, play areas and a cross-site path leading into neighbouring woodland. Gamlingay developmentAnnington is releasing on Saturday 21 April six three-storey terraced character cottages in the village of Gamlingay, around 16 miles west of Cambridge, which have been refurbished and extended to meet today’s requirements by discerning homebuyers.

April launch for new scheme in Whitechapel

Mount Anvil is launching a new development in a joint venture partnership with L&Q this month, providing more than 450 studio, one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments over four phases at The Silk District.

Designed by Stockwell Architects, and just moments from the upcoming Whitechapel Crossrail station, the development will include two towers of 20 and 25 floors respectively in addition to a series of low-rise buildings with landscaped courtyards and gardens. The Jacquard is the first tower to be built and will provide over 100 new homes, each with a private balcony, winter garden or terrace. Prices start from £445,000 for a studio apartment.

Doors open with Redrow at Kent and West Sussex sites

Woodlands GreenAward-winning housebuilder Redrow Homes is opening the doors at two of its developments in the Home Counties to give house-hunters in Kent and West Sussex the chance to see their choice of new homes in more detail.

Shared Ownership homes launching in Hounslow this weekend

Notting Hill Sales is launching The Staging Post, TW3, on Saturday 21 April, providing a range of homes available to buy through the government-backed Shared Ownership scheme.

Taylor Wimpey South East is launching the first homes at its Halden Field development this Saturday 21 April, bringing an impressive collection of two-, three-, four-, five- and six-bedroom homes to the village of Rolvenden in Kent.

New development in Hillingdon opens next week

The DiaryHowarth Homes is launching its latest development next week, as The Dairy opens its doors to property seekers looking to purchase off-plan in the London Borough of Hillingdon on Thursday 26 April and 3.00pm.
