As we discovered earlier this week, there’s a host of reasons to consider buying a new home in Glasgow. As with the central areas and suburbs of many other great cities, it is combining major regeneration of long-neglected sites with pockets of contemporary design and tasteful conversions in some of its busy and rich, historic neighbourhoods.

The most recent census data suggests that the resident population of Glasgow's city centre grew by 44% between 2001 and 2011, from 19,700 to 28,300. This major jump has been complemented by many new shops, amenities, arts and culture venues, cafes, bars and restaurants to serve a diverse clientele.
