Launch Of Next Phase At Walthamstow Scheme

Posted 18 July 2023 by Keith Osborne

Countryside Partnerships has celebrated the launch of the next collection of new homes at Fellowship Square...

Countryside Partnerships and Waltham Forest Council have launched the first homes for sale at Hepworth Place, the second phase of the Fellowship Square project that will create a brand new neighbourhood and cultural hub in the heart of the borough.

The new marketing suite at Hepworth Place was officially opened with a ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday 7 July by Cllr Grace Williams, the Leader of Waltham Forest Council, and Kevin Delve from Countryside Partnerships. It features a new one-bedroom show home, which has been designed by award-winning interior design studio Beau Sala, that is now open for viewings.

Named Hepworth Place after Philip Dalton Hepworth, the architect who designed the original Waltham Forest Town Hall built in 1941, the development is delivering 433 high-quality homes prioritised for local people, 87 of which will be for London Affordable Rent, 118 for Shared Ownership, and 228 for private sale. It will also provide a brand new civic building with café/restaurant space opening onto Fellowship Square, new landscaped gardens including the Queen Elizabeth II Commemorative Garden and a sensory garden alongside play facilities on Chestnuts Field, as well as a new nursery and new commercial space.

Set around the unmistakable copper clock tower of the Town Hall and the fountain of Fellowship Square, a collection of contemporary one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments at Hepworth Place are now available for private sale through Countryside Homes, starting from £399,999. Every home benefits from a high specification as standard, meaning flooring, carpets and integrated appliances are included at no extra cost, as well as private outdoor space through a balcony or terrace.

Residents enjoy ample green space on their doorstep, including six acres of Chestnuts Field and Town Hall lawn to relax and unwind, while the development is within easy reach of central London, with trains taking just 20 minutes to the City from Wood Street station. With construction well underway, the first homes are expected to be ready to occupy from June 2024, with the development as a whole anticipated to fully complete in 2025.

Hepworth PlaceKevin Delve, managing director, London East, Countryside Partnerships, said: “The opening of the fantastic new marketing suite at Hepworth Place is a crucial milestone in our transformation of the Waltham Forest Town Hall campus, which we are proud to celebrate with our partners Waltham Forest Council. With a high volume of enquiries, the popularity of these much-needed new homes is evident, and we are looking forward to welcoming the first residents next summer.”

Cllr Ahsan Khan, deputy leader and Cabinet member for Housing and Regeneration, said: “It’s great to be able to celebrate the opening of the Hepworth Place marketing suite and see the high-quality housing that’s going to be on offer from next year when the first residents will be able to move in.”

Hepworth Place delivers on the Council’s key priorities in providing new affordable housing, creating ‘15-minute neighbourhoods’ helping residents to lead safe and healthy lives. The brand new neighbourhood at Hepworth Place addresses the climate emergency declared by the London Borough of Waltham Forest by being car free, providing 815 secure cycle spaces, planting over 200 new trees, providing renewable energy through PV panels and a communal heating system and by delivering landscaping that promotes biodiversity and mitigates flooding.

The regeneration is driving economic recovery in the borough and bringing hundreds of new jobs to the area, including over 600 during construction and over 800 supply chain jobs, as well as nearly 160 additional jobs from new commercial and community uses. The first phase of works completed in July 2021 providing a fully refurbished historic Grade II listed Town Hall and the creation of Fellowship Square with a state-of-the-art water feature, which has since been hugely popular with residents and visitors.

The marketing suite is located next to the War Memorial and in front of the Assembly Hall at Fellowship Square and is open seven days a week, from 10.00am until 5.00pm. Find out more about Hepworth Place from Countryside.
