Cala Homes has unveiled a new show home at its Glenacre development in Midlothian…

Cala Homes (East) has unveiled a stunning new show home in Midlothian, which showcases the best of local businesses within a contemporary homestyle for the region.

The five-bedroom Elliot show piece show home in Glenacre, Roslin is now available for potential buyers to visit by appointment and has been launched as part of a brand new collection of four- and five-bedroom homes in this desirable location by the WhatHouse? Award-winning homebuilder.

Expertly designed by Eileen Kesson of Envision Interiors, visitors can uncover hidden local gems throughout the property, thanks to Cala’s ‘Showhome of Support’ initiative. The project sees a selection of show home items sourced from businesses in the surrounding area, adding a personal touch from the local business community to the homes.

Upon entering Glenacre’s Elliot show home, visitors will be welcomed by a light and calming palette of stone, white and blush tones throughout.  The show home’s large, open-plan kitchen and family space is ideally suited for entertaining as well as being the perfect spot to cosy up with a book while enjoying views over the patio and garden. The flexible family space has been dressed with a range of items from local, artisanal retailers. This includes cinnamon infused gin from The Secret Garden Distillery and deliciously sweet chocolate honeycomb from food and wine purveyors, Margiotta.

The show home boasts four bathrooms, two of which are en-suite, which feature premium white sanitaryware from Laufen. The bathtub provides a sumptuous spot for guests to soak in the property’s relaxing atmosphere, while their senses are invigorated by the smell of scented candles by the Melrose Candle Co, purchased from local retailer, The Secret Garden Shop.

The home has a contemporary feel, with bold, black detailing featured throughout. The modern interiors are complemented by traditional decoration, with books from the iconic Rosslyn Chapel positioned throughout the show home as homage to the rich, historical heritage of Roslin.

Elliot is one of four show piece homes which have been launched in the latest collection of show homes by Cala Homes (East), including the five-bedroom Lowther home in Inchcolm Green, Aberdour, and the five-bedroom Gordon and Hamilton house types in Saltcoats Grange, Gullane.

Philip Hogg, sales and marketing director at Cala Homes (East), says: “As a business, we are passionate about building communities, not just homes, and ‘Showhome of Support’ is designed to help give a platform to some of the amazing independent retailers and local talent we have on our doorsteps. So many small businesses have been badly hit over the last few years, so we want to offer them an extra opportunity to reach new homebuyers moving to the area. By working in partnership with local businesses in the community, we will be bringing a real unique flavour of what a town, village or city has to offer.”

The Glenacre development in Roslin offers a collection of four- and five-bedroom detached homes, with prices starting from £520,000.
