A Dream Home Found With Help to Buy Scheme

A family from Ampthill in Bedfordshire, were over the moon after finding their dream home at Taylor Wimpey’s The Kilns development in Wootton. Their instant attraction to the development led them to a spacious four-bedroom home where they have now settled into their new life.

Claire and Mike Abbott, along with their three children, made the move from their home in Ampthill to the four-bedroom ‘Aspen’ housetype at The Kilns, whilst also using the opportunity to be closer to the centre of Bedford. They secured their new home with the help of the government-backed Help to Buy: Equity Loan scheme and completed their move in November 2019.

Commenting on their new home, Claire said: “When we visited The Kilns, our first impression was that we simply loved it. We were drawn to the ‘Aspen’ as the layout was perfect and the large, airy bedrooms were ideal for the whole family.

“We have an amazing front and back garden which has a beautiful view over the nearby lake. We have been lucky to have found a home that is surrounded by countryside but also very close to the town centre.”

Claire and Mike were looking for a modern, high-quality yet affordable home which they and their sons could enjoy. Mike said: “We wanted the whole family to feel comfortable in the new home and the fact that local schools and shops are within walking distance really helped with our decision to move here.”

To secure their home, Claire and Mike opted to use the government-backed Help to Buy: Equity Loan scheme. Commenting on their choice to use this scheme, Claire said: “The sales team at The Kilns were extremely helpful and professional. They helped us every step of the way and made the whole process easy and straightforward.”

Claire and Mike have now settled into their new surroundings with their son Eddie and Claire’s teenage sons Ben and Dan. Claire said: “We look forward to many years at The Kilns and are excited to see what the future holds for us.”
