Variety Of Home Types Means Happy Customers For Housebuilder

Posted 25 November 2020 by Keith Osborne

Taylor Wimpey builds many different house types across Britain, which lead to a diverse range of delighted purchasers...

The pent-up demand for moving home or taking a first step on the property ladder has led to a very busy time for housebuilders, and nationally, Taylor Wimpey has seen a real variety of buyers who have been delighted with their purchase.

Taylor Wimpey builds thousands of homes every year in England, Scotland and Wales, delivering everything from one-bedroom apartments to large, detached family houses. It offers house-hunters government-backed initiatives such as Help to Buy along with a number of its own schemes to help all sorts of buyers ease their purchase financially or by removing the stresses of moving home.

Here are just a few recent case studies.

Jenna and Simon, Pershore

Jenna Webb and Simon PickeringJenna Webb and Simon Pickering have found everything they were looking for with their new home at Taylor Wimpey’s Plum Tree Walk development in Pershore.

The couple, along with Simon’s son Charlie, moved into their new home after renting in nearby Bredon for four years. The family set out to find a home that was modern yet traditional after living in a small village. They chose the four-bedroom ‘Shelford’ house type, seeing it as a place they could put their own stamp on.

Jenna said: “It is such a benefit knowing that all the hard work has been completed for you. When it came to picking our home, we were drawn to the whole aesthetic, especially the large kitchen-diner and garden. There is so much space throughout the house which is perfect for when we have friends and family visiting.

“We used the virtual tour tool to look around the ‘Shelford’ which allowed us to picture what our home could be like, however it was the physical viewing that really sealed the deal for us.”

Simon said: “Plum Tree Walk drew us in as it is a slightly smaller development but has vast amounts of green space. Being in the estate agency business, we have seen our clients buy Taylor Wimpey homes and have only heard positive feedback.”

Another important factor that the couple were looking for was the location. Charlie attends the nearby Tewksbury High School whilst both Jenna and Simon, who are in the estate agency business, needed the ease of commuting to and from work.

Talking about the journey of buying a home with Taylor Wimpey, Jenna said: “We used the Help to Buy scheme to enable us to purchase our new home and the whole team were very supportive throughout the process. We look forward to what the future holds at Plum Tree Walk.”

Monika and family, Whetstone

Monika and familyAs a single mother, Monika Czachor wanted to find a permanent home where she and her two children could thrive and create a future. The family were looking to relocate from Tottenham, where they lived in a three-bedroom apartment which Monika owned. Having looked at a number of properties around the area, the close-knit trio instantly fell in love with the three-bedroom ‘Tilvern’ house type and the convenient location of the Oakleigh Grove development.

She said: “The main reason for the move, for me, was to own a house with a garden for our dog and be closer to my daughter’s school in Muswell Hill. We loved Oakleigh Grove immediately. The area is very clean and safe for the kids with plenty of outdoor space. It doesn't even feel like we live in London anymore because it’s so quiet. The privacy of the development is great and something we really love.”

Their move was made even simpler by using Taylor Wimpey’s easymover scheme, which takes the worry out of managing the buying, selling and moving process, and paying estate agent fees.

Monika added: “The price was a deciding factor for me. As a single mother supporting my family on a single income it was very difficult for me to upgrade from an apartment to a house, but the easymover scheme made it simple and more affordable, and the Taylor Wimpey team was always very professional, supportive and so helpful.

“We are very happy here. It feels like home. I am still decorating and settling in, but the feeling of accomplishment is great. The house is so comfortable, warm and very convenient. My favourite aspect of the house is that it is mine. It’s new, clean, fresh and nobody has lived here before and the finish is of a very high standard.”

Liz, High Wycombe

Liz TunleyLiz Tunley (29) has made the first step towards moving into her dream home at Taylor Wimpey’s Pine Trees development in High Wycombe.

Moving away from her two bedroom flat in Wooburn Green, where she has lived for four years, the reservist RAF officer decided it was time to find a home with more space but still within the local area to be near to family. She secured her home with the help of the Easymover customer scheme. She is now due to move into her new four-bedroom ‘Palm’ house type in Spring 2021.

She commented: “I always said that I would only move away from my flat when I found a home that “top trumped” it and I have found exactly that at Pine Trees. I was really impressed by the specifications and value for money that was offered by Taylor Wimpey and that’s what drew me to start searching for my new house.”

“When I found out that Pine Trees was built on an RAF base I thought it was too good to be true! The RAF is an important part of my life and to know I have that connection with where I will live makes it that bit more special.”

“I was very impressed with how much space the home had. Although I am not moving in until next year, being able to exchange now has made me very excited. I have absolutely no doubt I will enjoy many special years in the Taylor Wimpey home and would like to thank the team for all of their help.
