James made the most of government financial incentives to buy an apartment at 87 Greenwich High Road...

The Stamp Duty holiday, combined with London Help to Buy, has helped first-time buyer James Cruse onto the ladder at Tailored Living Solutions’ 87 Greenwich High Road.

James, sales professional at an industry-leading software company, felt like the time was right to move out of a rented property he shared with friends in Clapham Common for purchase a place of his own.

He commented: “I love living with friends, but the time had come where I really felt like I needed my own space, it was still important for me to be close to my friendship group and the support system that provides though so I settled on looking in Greenwich.

“It was actually my friends in Greenwich that told me about a great looking new building on the High Road. It’s such a beautiful building so when they walked past, they told me I needed to take a look. They weren’t wrong, it was the perfect choice for me.

“Whilst I knew from the moment I saw the show apartment I wanted to live here, as a first-time buyer I still needed a lot of guidance and the Tailored Living Solutions team couldn’t have been more helpful and were always on hand to speak to me.”

Having previously looked at several new build developments James explained how he started to feel down about what was available in his price point. “Almost everything I saw felt like small box rooms and not the most inspiring, that includes some big-name projects in Greenwich. When I stepped inside the show apartment at Greenwich High Road I just knew it was for me.

“The rooms were so much brighter than anything I’d seen before and it was all down to something so simple – floor-to-ceiling windows, they let in so much natural light.”

James CruseJames was really taken aback by the size of the apartments and high-quality spec available at 87 Greenwich High Road, in comparison to other developments he had viewed in the past. He commented: “The apartments at Greenwich High Road stood out by a country mile. The size of the rooms are incomparable and the home management technology is well ahead of anything I’ve ever seen before.”

The state-of-the-art home management system is known as Wondrwall and it is installed in every apartment at 87 Greenwich High Road. The innovative system is self-learning and adapts to residents’ daily routine by altering temperatures and lighting to suit typical behaviours.

James continued: “The system learns your habits and will turn the heating on and off depending on when you are typically home, as someone guilty of having left the heating on a few times when going out to work it’s a godsend. The tech in the apartment is next level.”

He purchased a two-bedroom apartment with Tailored Living Solutions, moving in in August 2020. “The developers have been great with me and talked me through questions I had about purchasing an apartment. Seeing as this is my first home I needed a lot of help and guidance. Tailored Living Solutions has always been on the other end of the phone when I had questions.”

Situated within a short stroll from Greenwich’s historic centre, purchasers at Greenwich High Road can enjoy a number of London’s most well-known landmarks such as, the Cutty Sark and Royal Observatory. The development is located just 400 metres from Greenwich station for fast DLR access to Bank and Canary Wharf, with National Rail links to London Bridge and Cannon Street.

James added: “The location is brilliant, I’m going to take the Clipper to work to avoid the Underground, but when needed the DLR is just a short walk away. There is so much on the doorstep, from Greenwich Park to great pubs and restaurants. The first place I’ll visit when I move in is Goddard’s at Greenwich, one of the oldest pie and mash shops in London, which is close by.”
