Stepping Up The Ladder at Hanwell Chase

Posted 5 June 2018 by Helen Christie

A customer buys twice at Persimmon Homes’ Hanwell Chase, and convinces brother to buy too…

After being one of the first three people to reserve off-plan at Persimmon Homes’ Hanwell Chase development in Banbury, David Paginton, 32, moved into his brand new, two-bedroom home back in September 2016.

But after a happy 15 months, the landscape architect decided now was the time to take a step up the property ladder and to make the move with his brother, Michael, 31, into a five-bedroom detached home on the same development.

David says: “With my brother looking to move closer to the family and with me living alone, it just made sense to combine our assets and go for something bigger.

“It’s been a pleasure living at Hanwell Chase and I had planned to stay here for many years to come. When we found out about Persimmon’s Part Exchange scheme, we were keen get the process started and to move in as quickly as we could.”

By using the Part Exchange scheme, David was able to sell his previous property quickly and efficiently, which meant the brothers were able to move in within just six weeks of David selling his previous home.

David adds: “What was great is that Persimmon take care of the whole process for you. There weren’t any estate agent fees to pay as they cover all the costs and we didn’t have to wait for buyers as Persimmon are the ones buying your home. As I’d bought before on the development, we were able to use the same conveyancers which meant that they were aware of my situation. It just made the whole process run a lot smoother.”

Coincidentally, David’s occupation as landscape architect meant that he had been involved in the planning of the development some seven years prior but only realised once he had received the conveyancing pack.

David says: “It was only when I was going through the conveyancing pack that I realised that I had worked on the planning stages of the development a few years back. It was great to see the development as a finished product. Often I help plan a development but don’t always get to see the final version. It made buying on the site extra special for me.”

David and his brother also received regular contact with the sales advisor on the site, which gave both brothers peace of mind that they were making the right decision.

He adds: “The buying process at Hanwell Chase is fantastic and the sales advisor was amazing, she took care of everything, Nicola was very knowledgeable and keeps you up to date with developments throughout the buying process.

“As there were no chains involved it meant that we were able to move in within just 6 weeks of making the sale. We’ve both settled in really well and love the extra space that comes with the five-bedroom property. It was definitely the right decision for us.”

Hanwell Chase is a much desired development in the lovely market town of Banbury. It offers a selection of two-, three- and four-bedroom homes with prices starting from just £220,000.
