First Home For Professional Couple In Chatham

Posted 17 November 2021 by Helen Christie

A professional couple from Kent have praised the team from Persimmon Homes who helped them buy their first home...

Oluwaseyi Oluwadare, his wife Nihinlola and their two children were living with family in Strood when they began the hunt for a property of their own.

Just seven months later they moved into their ‘lustrous’ four-bedroom, three storey mid-terrace Lydford style house with study, integral garage and garden at Colonial Wharf, Persimmon’s impressive waterside development in Chatham, complete with ‘a beautiful scenery of boats and yachts’.

“We were looking for new build houses in Chatham and Colonial Wharf popped up on our search,” says Mr Oluwadare, 43, a finance officer and music director.

“Our experience has been simply splendid and I would say to any buyers out there looking for a new build home – search for Persimmon first!”

After moving in, the couple completed an NHBC satisfaction survey in which they said they were ‘extremely satisfied’ with the service they had received, scoring Persimmon ‘a million stars’.

“We can’t recommend the Persimmon team highly enough, they always followed up calls with exceptional care and professionalism. Their expertise, communication and diligence were very much appreciated.”

Any snags that were identified were dealt with proactively and the couple were full of praise for both the site and sales teams.

“The outstanding issues were not major and the management team was very proactive in getting them done, we were very impressed,” adds Mrs Oluwadare, a 38-year-old maths teacher.

Persimmon South East head of sale Natasha Stevens says: “We were overwhelmed by Mr and Mrs Oluwadare’s comments on their NHBC survey, so hoped they would be happy to share their experience. We are so pleased that they are happy with their journey and enjoying life in their new home. It has been a pleasure for all of the team to get to know them.”

Chatham is set in the heart of The Medway and has a rich maritime history dating back more than 400 years. Colonial Wharf is built on the edge of Basin 2, part of the old Chatham Dockyard and now home to Arethusa Water Sports. Basin 1 houses the Chatham Marina where a number of boats are moored. Along with a wide choice of houses and apartments Colonial Wharf will offer a children’s play area and a landscaped quayside viewing plaza.
