Forever Home For Couple In Village Development
"From the first day we moved in, the house just felt right – it felt like home." That's exactly how 35-year-old podiatrist, Allison Scott describes her new Maplewood home at Miller Homes' Evergreen Manor development in Kilmaurs.
Allison and her husband Colin, an agricultural engineer, moved into their new home in February 2022. The couple had their eye on the four-bedroom Maplewood from the moment Miller Homes announced it was coming to the area and were lucky enough to reserve one as soon as the homes were released for sale.
Allison says: "We knew we wanted to make our home in the village of Kilmaurs, but we needed more space, so when we saw Miller Homes were launching Evergreen Manor, we researched the home styles on their website, even before they were released. The Maplewood was our favourite – it had plenty of space, and the layout looked perfect for Colin and I."
The Ayrshire couple certainly weren't disappointed when they moved into their new home. Allison continues: "I love everything about our new home. My favourite room is the principal bathroom. I just adore the tiles and colour scheme, and it makes me smile every time I walk in. We also spend loads of time in the kitchen dining area. It's a wonderful space for when our families come to visit. I like being able to cook while chatting to the family, so it's great if you like to entertain".
Allison and Colin were one of the first families to reserve at Evergreen Manor. The development sales manager was a great support for the couple through the home buying journey. Allison says: "Emma was so helpful. No matter what we needed, she was always there. She was extremely calming, took everything in her stride, and made the whole process really enjoyable."
One of the best moments of the buying journey for the couple was choosing their options to personalise their home. Allison continues: "We travelled to Miller Homes' Newton Fields sales centre to choose our kitchen and tiles, and it was such an exciting process. There were so many different choices, and we really took our time making the decision. I'm glad we did because we are both delighted with the result."
The size and layout of the Maplewood is perfect for the Scott's lifestyle. The couple have turned bedroom three into a home office and bedroom four into a gym with a few workout machines, weights and mats, which Allison uses regularly. The garage is where Colin spends a lot of his time, having transformed it into a workshop for his vintage tractor, which he's in the process of refurbishing.
Allison finishes: "Both Colin and I agree that we've found our forever home. We love the location as well as the home itself and have so many plans to personalise it over the coming years to really make it our own."
