Two Become Three At Hamilton Development
New homeowners, Julia (29) and William (32), have become a family of three, welcoming baby girl Poppy to their home just a few weeks ago at Miller Homes' Highstonehall development in Hamilton.
Julia, a radiographer for the NHS, and her husband William, a safety critical supervisor, along with their Chow Chow, Taco, moved into their home back in April 2022 and have been loving every minute since. They’ve settled into their dream home and made it their own, tied the knot with a wedding of a lifetime and have now welcomed baby Poppy to their nest.
“We both grew up in Hamilton and couldn't think of a better location to buy our dream home and start a family,” said Julia as she explained why the location of Miller Homes' Highstonehall development was perfect.
Julia continued: “My parents bought a new build home 20 years ago in Hamilton. We loved going round for our Sunday dinner and enjoyed spending time exploring the community with our dog Taco and my parents’ Golden Retriever, Marley. During our visits, we saw Miller Homes were building their Highstonehall development, and as soon as we set foot in the show home, we knew it was the one for us. It was love at first sight.”
The four-bedroom ‘Fletcher’ has everything the family could need and more, with a laundry room, garage and separate lounge, as well as four bedrooms, two of which boast en suites. Julia noted: “As soon as we picked up the keys, we knew this home was one we could grow into as a family and enjoy for years to come.
“Since welcoming baby Poppy into the world, we couldn’t imagine a better location. We’re just around the corner from my parents, near William’s family and just down the road from our friends who also grew up in South Lanarkshire. It’s going to be great for date nights when Poppy is a little older, we’ll certainly be calling on the grandparents for babysitting duties!”
The couple are delighted with their new home and couldn't help but rave about the buying experience: “We were very impressed with the team at Miller Homes who made our whole buying journey a flawless experience from start to finish. Helen and Neil on site were brilliant and communicated with us every week to ensure we had all the advice and support we needed.
“William and I couldn't quite believe our luck when we managed to secure the ‘Fletcher’ as they are so popular. We both thoroughly enjoyed planning our new home – picking tiles and adding all the features to personalise it just how we wanted it.”
Julia is passionate about interiors and has gone with a chic monochrome style for their ‘Fletcher’ home. Julia's page, @athomewithjuliaa on Instagram, demonstrates the family’s home with a snapshot of their interiors, bold and beautiful accessories, and how they've furnished and personalised their home.
Julia’s transformed the second bedroom into Poppy’s nursery as it boasts the convenience of an en suite and is just across the landing from their bedroom. She’s gone for a woodland-themed neutral wallpaper from Munks and Me, complemented with a wooden cot and changing unit to bring the space together. Woven wicker details in the nursery nod to the Scandinavian look and feel of the room, and Julia’s added a checked beige armchair for cosying up with the baby and has a much-loved framed quote from Winnie the Pooh, ‘How do you spell love?’, ‘You don’t spell it – you feel it’.
