First Home For Buyers In Time For Baby
Connor Gray, 24, and Jessica Simpson, 27, wanted to purchase their first home before the arrival of their baby. Now, this young family are now settled at Linden Homes’ Northfield Meadows, in Scarborough.
The couple, who work as a nursery practitioner and a chef, had heard about WhatHouse? Award-winning developer Linden Homes via family and friends, as well as reviews on social media. Upon further research, they soon fell in love with the Northfield Meadows development and decided that the Eveleigh, a semi-detached home with three bedrooms, offered everything they needed and more.
Connor explains: “We went to visit Northfield Meadows because it is so close to both of our workplaces and we loved the fact this would reduce time spent commuting. We were instantly struck by the beautiful surroundings of the site, as well as the peaceful nature of the wider area. Once we knew that this was our preferred development, the sales team introduced us to the Eveleigh house type and we couldn’t believe how spacious it felt. With a baby on the way, one of our biggest concerns was having enough room, but this particular property has an open plan kitchen and dining area, as well as an ensuite to the main bedroom.”
Jess continues: “As first-time buyers, we worried that we wouldn’t be able to afford a house like this but we’re so pleased with the size of the living room, garden and kitchen. From day one, the entire house felt so welcoming and it just seemed like the perfect option for our growing family.”
After selecting their preferred property, the Northfield Meadows sales team demonstrated how the couple could make the most of the Help to Buy scheme that was available at the time.
Connor recalls: “We used Help to Buy, to reduce the amount of deposit required but we still worried about how we would afford other essential moving costs. The sales team was incredibly understanding of our personal circumstances and helped by sharing some additional offers to help with our move.”
With financial pressure reduced, sales executives Keeley and Christine then helped the couple navigate the complex buying process.
Connor and Jess say: “We both felt a lot of pressure to move into the house before our baby arrived. We’re so appreciative of the help offered by the sales team, as we could speak to them about paperwork queries and they kept in very close contact throughout each stage of the sale.
Connor adds: “Both Keeley and Christina made the whole process so easy for us to understand, to be honest, they did most of the hard work for us! One of our favourite parts was meeting with them to discuss our interior design choices, before they took us around our plot during construction, so we could see how our family home was coming along.”
The family are now enjoying life together in their first home. Connor and Jess conclude: “We have already recommended Linden Homes to all of our family and friends. The quality of our Eveleigh home is amazing and the team was so helpful, from start to finish. We couldn’t ask for anything more.”
Frances Skinner, sales manager for Linden Homes, says: “We think it’s important to consider our customers' individual circumstances to ensure we can provide the very best buying experience and, of course, find them their perfect home. The Northfield Meadows sales team knew that the Eveleigh was the ideal choice for this growing family and they did everything they could to make the process smooth and stress free. We would urge all first-time buyers to come and speak to their local sales team if they are interested in living at Northfield Meadows. Although Help to Buy has come to an end, there are other fantastic schemes available and our team can help answer any queries you may have.”
Northfield Meadows has a collection of three- and four-bedroom homes available, with prices starting from £107,475.
