Help to Buy Secures Home for Family at Forge Wood

Posted 16 October 2018 by Helen Christie

Using the Help to Buy scheme, Emma Trinidad and her husband Arnel purchased their first home at the Forge Wood development in Crawley...

The couple chose a three-bedroom Flatford house by Taylor Wimpey and moved in, along with their two children, in February this year.

Helped by the Taylor Wimpey sales executives at Forge Wood, Emma and Arnel found out everything they needed to know about Help to Buy and were able to reserve their new home at Forge Wood with just a 5% deposit. Emma says: “The sales team were absolutely brilliant and really took the time to explain to us how Help to Buy worked and how it could help us to purchase our first family home. Only having to save a 5% deposit meant that we could afford the house we wanted without having to wait for years.”

Before moving into their new home at Forge Wood, the Trinidad family were renting a two-bedroom flat in Surrey. After visiting the Taylor Wimpey Sales Centre at Forge Wood, the family fell in love with the Flatford which has everything they were looking for. Emma adds: “We wanted a three-bedroom home with a big garden, plenty of room on the drive, and a reasonable kitchen -  and the Flatford ticks all the boxes. I absolutely love the kitchen; whenever we have people round we tend to gather in there because it’s the perfect space for socialising. The garden has to be my favourite feature of the house though; we’ve received lots of compliments about it purely because of its great size.”

Not only did the Flatford house suit the needs of Emma and her family, the location of Forge Wood was also a big factor in the family's decision to move. Emma explains: “Forge Wood is so convenient for us. Our children’s school, Three Bridges Primary School, is less than ten minutes away by car and our home is close to plenty of shops for the everyday essentials. There’s also lots of things for us to see and do as a family in Crawley, such as Tilgate Park or Go Ape.”

There is currently a range of homes available at Forge Wood, including the three-bedroom Flatford priced from £384,950. The Help to Buy scheme is still available on selected plots and, throughout September, homebuyers can reserve a Flatford home from just £99.

To follow in Emma and Arnel’s footsteps and secure a Taylor Wimpey home at Forge Wood, visit the Sales Information Centre located off Balcombe Road, Forge Wood, Crawley, RH10 3NH and open daily between 10am and 5pm.
