First Family Moves In At Broad Blunsdon Development

Posted 4 October 2021 by Keith Osborne

Already 75% sold off-plan, Hayfield Wood has welcomed its first residents, the Hamilton family...

The first people to move into Hayfield Wood are a family with two young children. Julie and Craig Hamilton, their five-year-old son Francis and four-year-old daughter Misty have made the six-mile move from Swindon to Broad Blunsdon to upgrade to a luxury new Hayfield home.

Situated in the historic Wiltshire village of Broad Blunsdon, 75% of the 70 houses and bungalows at the highly popular development have already been pre-sold on an off-plan basis.

The family has moved into a four-bedroom ‘Radley’ design, which features a spectacular open-plan kitchen and family area, complete with a separate utility room and a larder.

Julie Hamilton said: “We were really excited about the opening of the Hayfield Wood development back in the spring. The show home is absolutely fantastic and we reserved on the spot! Our new home feels so spacious and luxurious. All four bedrooms have generous proportions, and the hallway and landing are so light and airy. My favourite room is definitely the kitchen, as it has a real wow factor. Having a separate larder room is amazing – I can see everything laid out without needing to root around in cupboards.

“Being the first to move in has been great because we can see the development progress. Both our children really love all the open space here and we’re really excited to see the new woodland take shape. The location is so convenient too, as we’re so close to the David Lloyd gym in Blunsdon, where we have a family membership. Craig and I are both secondary school teachers and commuting to work in Gloucestershire is straightforward, as the A419 is close by.”

Every home at Hayfield Wood benefits from a room with sound-reducing insulation to create the perfect home office, or a place for quiet reflection away from other family members. Each home also features ultra-fast broadband connectivity, an electric car charging point and underfloor heating. The new woodland will feature 4,755 native trees and shrubs, and the 16-acre scheme will also include a new community shop, café and wildflower meadow.

Hayfield WoodAn elegant yet striking five-bedroom show home by Lifestyle Interiors has been styled to illustrate a fresh bold approach to show home design. Open seven days a week, it features statement monochrome furniture and accessories, which is the iconic runway style trend of 2021.

Hayfield Wood is located off Sams Lane in the old historic core of Broad Blunsdon, close to local amenities and schooling. Prices for the current release of three and four-bedroom houses range from £345,000 to £570,000, with incentives available on selected homes.

The collection of homes features five-star housebuilder Hayfield’s luxurious specification, including bespoke Manor Interiors kitchens, ROCA and Laufen bathrooms, Minoli ceramic tiles, heritage bronze ironmongery, key lighting features and Farrow & Ball paint.

Hayfield Wood has been designed around an array of mature trees that are being retained and incorporated within the expansive development area. Meanwhile, the newly planted woodland will stretch to well over an acre, creating a natural landscape buffer with the neighbouring 13th-century St Leonard’s Church.

Broad Blunsdon lies six miles north of the centre of Swindon, with the A419 forming the village’s southern boundary. The sought-after village was mentioned in the Domesday Book. Following thorough analysis of the existing high-quality architectural vernacular, the selection of house designs are being constructed in a mix of red brick and reconstituted stone, taking inspiration from traditional properties in the village.

Hayfield Wood is open daily from 10.00am to 5.00pm. Find out more from Hayfield.
