First-time Buyers Relocate to Droitwich with Help to Buy

Posted 9 April 2019 by Helen Christie

First-time buyers, Michael Boxall, 28 and Catherine Griffin, 25 recently made a major life decision to relocate from Cheshire to Droitwich…

The couple are now settling into their new home at Taylor Wimpey’s Maple Coppice development. The couple, who moved to the area for work, joined the growing community in December last year with help from the government-backed Help to Buy scheme and were able to secure their home with a 5% deposit.

Michael previously worked in the army and moved to the area to progress a career in Facilities Management in Warwick, while Catherine is able to continue her line of work in museums. One thing that was important to the couple was choosing a location that had good access to transport links which Maple Coppice was able to deliver. Droitwich Spa Station is a short drive away from the development and provides direct services to Birmingham New Street. The M5 is also easily accessible and allows commuters to travel into the centre of Birmingham.

Michael says: “It was important for us to choose a location that had good access for both Catherine and I to get to work, and we’ve managed to adapt fairly quickly thanks to motorway being close by. As we don’t have a great deal of background knowledge on the area, we needed commutable links that were right on our doorstep - we’re lucky that we found a location that accommodates that.”

The couple opted for the Copcut with help from the sales executives at Maple Coppice who listened to the couple’s needs and affordability. The Copcut has been designed to provide homeowners with a comfortable day-to-day living space with a large open-plan kitchen and dining area.

Michael continues: “The Copcut instantly caught our attention as we both loved the layout and it gave us plenty of space for what we could afford. The house itself was professionally built, uniformed and we could tell everything was done to a high quality.”

Commenting on their experience with Taylor Wimpey, Michael says: “Our friends had recently bought a home in Banbury with Taylor Wimpey and recommended looking into it. We did some research and they had a good reputation and lots of good reviews. We’re so glad we did because we love our new home and we couldn’t have done it without the fantastic sales team - Lydia in particular was really helpful.

Maple Coppice has a range of three-, four- and five-bedroom homes available to buy from £245,000 with the Help to Buy, Part Exchange and Easymover schemes on selected plots.

For further information on the homes and schemes available at Maple Coppice, visit the Sales Information Centre located off Pulley Lane in Droitwich, WR9 7JL which is open daily between 11am and 5pm. Alternatively, call the sales executives on 01905 677408
