First-Time Buyers Secure Dream Home In Clydebank
First-time buyers Robyn, 21, a customer service assistant for Govan Housing Association, and partner Arron, 24, an engineer for the NHS, are on cloud nine after getting the keys to their first-ever home at Miller Homes' Millerbank development.
Robyn and Arron were looking to find their perfect first home close to Glasgow, the city where they both grew up and where they met and became friends aged 16. After four years as a couple, they have taken the next step in their lives together by purchasing their first home – a three-bedroom Urquhart Mid at Millerbank.
Robyn and Arron are the youngest couple on the development, and both loved their new build home from the moment they saw it; Robyn explains: "We knew as soon as we set foot in the Miller Homes show home that the Urquhart Mid was the one for us! We've both had our hearts set on a new build home, and the timing was just perfect. From an initial idea of looking for our first home together to just days later deciding at the show home visit that this was the home for us, so we reserved it right away.
"Arron and I both work two jobs, and we've been saving up for years. It feels like such an achievement to be buying our own home in our early 20s, and we just can't wait to move in fully!"
The couple decided to hold off officially moving in until they decorated and added the finishing touches. Robyn and Arron enjoyed the process of designing each room from scratch and are on track to finish by mid-July. The couple were so keen to enjoy every aspect of their first home journey that they set up an Instagram account (@our_wee_urquhart) and are already getting to know their neighbours and other residents at Millerbank through the social media platform.
With a passion for urban living and contemporary design, Robyn instantly loved the layout of the three-bedroom Urquhart Mid: "We're obsessed with the lounge to the rear of our home, with French doors that open to the garden – it's just perfect for Troy, our Teacup Pomeranian.
"Arron's favourite part of the home is bedroom three, which we're going to make into a gaming room-come-study. We've loved planning our interior, choosing our tiles and designing the kitchen to our own style; it's been great to see it all come together."
Robyn and Arron were both delighted with the process and says: "Miller Homes have been extremely helpful during our buying process, where our development sales manager has always been on hand to answer all our questions. We felt very comfortable to ask away."
Millerbank launched last year, offering buyers a fantastic selection of three-bedroom terraced homes and townhouses. The development has been extremely popular with buyers, with over 70% of homes now reserved.
