First-time buyer snaps up brand new home and job at Redrow Homes

Posted 21 June 2016 by Helen Christie

When first-time buyer Emily Ludlow set off on a venture to purchase her first home, new build property was not on the wish list of ‘dream buys’…

However, after just 10 minutes in Redrow Homes Southern Counties, Erskine Park development, Emily and her partner, Hamish had reserved a brand new home. No sooner had she moved in, Emily landed a job with Redrow.

Speaking of her prompt decision and sway towards a new build home, Emily says: “We initially looked at a Victorian townhouse but following a visit to Erskine Park we decided that the benefits of buying new build were perfectly suited for our first purchase.”

“We had only seen one other property prior to buying at Erskine Park and our search was less than two weeks in, having previously set our sights on second hand. The combination of excellent build quality, customer service, along with location and being just walking distance to Wilton’s shops made it an easy and quick decision for us.

Erksine Park is a collection of two-, three- and four-bedroom homes and apartments. Located on The Avenue between town and country, the development is a transformation of the former Erskine Barracks, once the British Army’s HQ Land Forces.

Mark Vanson, Redrow Homes (Southern Counties) sales director, says: “Emily was a dream purchaser and a great example that new build is becoming an enticing prospect for many buyers, particularly first-time buyers, who want to avoid the stresses that come with buying a home.

“We pride ourselves on the customer experience at Redrow Homes and Emily is a great example of this – so impressed with our team on site, Emily not only bought a home with us at Erskine Park but has also since joined our team as a sales consultant! We wish her all the best in her new home and career.”

Emily enjoys keeping active in her free time and interior design is a keen interest. She admits: “My partner and I spent weeks buying everything to furnish our new house, staring at it all boxed up and ready to go - so unpacking was definitely our highlight.”

Emily continues: “I love interiors, especially New England style so decorating our homes was the most exciting part. It has been great fun doing the garden with it being a new home as it is a blank canvas.”

Emily and Hamish purchased one of the two-bedroom terraced homes at Erskine Park, in the style of the Cadogan, part of the Redrow Homes Regency Collection.

The market town of Wilton offers welcoming pubs, convenience stores and supermarkets, a historic weekly farmers market and a shopping village. On hand is also a number of primary schools, a health centre and dental practice.

For countryside lovers, Erksine Park is also on the doorstep of the New Forest and South Downs National Park a short drive away. For a touch of history, Wilton House, with 21 acres of magnificent landscaped gardens around the classic 17th century country house is short walk from the development and Stonehenge is just 11 miles away.

Further afield is the historic and beautiful cathedral city of Salisbury, from where train services reach London in an hour-and-a-half.
