“We were living in Caerphilly - my wife is from there and I am from Cwmbran,” says Adam, 32. “I have always wanted to move a little closer to home, and Holly and I wanted more of a country/village lifestyle to raise our children, Ruby, 4, and Benjamin, 2.
Adam continues: “The Acres’ location ticked all the boxes. I work in Blackwood, which is only 25 minutes away - so it’s perfect for us. And this particular plot has it all. We’d been looking to move for a while and wanted to find somewhere that our children could call ‘home’ until they eventually move out. We found that in the Winstone house design here.
“It has a double garage, a large drive and the most amazing private south-facing garden. All the rooms are a fantastic size - and the house is spacious enough to comfortably fit the four of us but not too big - so when the kids fly the nest, Holly and I can stay here.
“We love the layout of the house - the study downstairs is now a kids’ toy room, which helps the children stay neat and tidy. And Holly and I have our own space in the lounge. Our Winstone is set within a relatively small development with plenty of open space - a small community.”
Holly, 28, adds: “Our family spends every weekend going on country walks, and riding our bikes across the canals. We have a local shop which stocks all the ‘must haves’, and the local pub is lovely.
“The David Wilson Homes staff have been fantastic. Incredibly professional, yet personal. During the move, they were always at hand, answering phone calls and emails. After we’d moved in, there was tremendous support, making sure everything was just right for us. We couldn’t be happier!”
