A young family are settling into their brand-new home in Wimborne, Dorset, after making the 125-mile move from Hertfordshire, for a new life by the sea.

Adam (45) and Becky Knott (41), and their two young daughters, Evie (7) and Megan (4), relocated to David Wilson Homes’ Quarter Jack Park at the end of 2021 and are now reaping the benefits of living in the new community near to the south coast.

After spending family holidays in the area for many years, Adam and Becky knew it was where they wanted to bring up their children. And, with their daughters still at a young age and the pandemic changing Adam’s working patterns, they decided it was an ideal time to make the ‘big’ move.

Adam said: “My family had a caravan just outside New Milton when I was a child, and Becky and I have been holidaying down here since Evie was born. We both love the surroundings and feel a real benefit of being by the sea. Since the pandemic, my job in Hertfordshire has adopted a hybrid working model allowing me to spend less time in the office, and, with the kids still little, it was the perfect opportunity for us to make the move we’d always dreamed of.”

The David Wilson Homes development, situated close to the River Stour, a five-minute drive away from Wimborne town centre and with easy access to Bournemouth and Poole, is where the Knott family chose to set up home.

Becky said: “After searching for homes in the area, I came across Quarter Jack Park and fell in love with the development. And after visiting, we were won over by the four-bedroomed ‘Exeter’ property.”

The Knott familyThe ‘Exeter’ style home comes with an open-plan kitchen dining/family area, utility, and French doors to the garden, along with a large living room with bay window. Upstairs benefits from a main double bedroom with an en suite, three further double bedrooms, and a family bathroom with separate shower. The home also comes with a garage and two parking spaces.

Adam added: “Compared to our house in Hertfordshire, our ‘Exeter’ home is a lot more spacious – perfect for our growing family. I am also using one of the extra bedrooms as an office space for myself – something we couldn’t do before.”

Five months on from their 125-mile relocation, the family are now enjoying the new community which has become their home.

Becky added: “It was a big move, but we knew it would be worth it. Living close to London in Hertfordshire had its benefits but the south coast is where we really wanted to be. We’re already very happy here and the girls love being able to get down to the seaside at a moment’s notice.”

Tammy Bishop, David Wilson Homes sales director, Southampton Division, is thrilled that Quarter Jack Park has become the home for Adam, Becky, and their children. She said: “With its acres of open space and countryside and coast within easy reach, Quarter Jack Park is a beautiful place to call home. I can see why the Knott family chose to move here and I wish them all the best for their new life by the sea.”

David Wilson Homes Quarter Jack Park is an exclusive range of homes in the Dorset town of Wimborne. There are excellent links to Bournemouth, Poole and Southampton, and there are many local nursery and schools to choose from. More homes go on sale there soom.
