Room For Daughter And Son-In-Law For Preston Buyers

Posted 12 November 2020 by Keith Osborne

Moving to a new David Wilson home has been a happy 'family affair' for adventurous parents at Lightfoot Meadows...

After recently moving into a brand new four-bedroom house at David Wilson Homes’ Lightfoot Meadows development, Chris and Sue Thompson are getting to know their neighbours – and are sharing home with their house-hunting daughter and son-in-law.

Chris (57) and Sue Thompson (56) recently moved into their home on the development with their daughter Hannah (23) and her husband Levar (25), along with their 18-year-old son Dan.

“We talked it through with the rest of the family and they all agreed it was a great idea, Hannah and Levar will also be buying their own home in a years’ time and are looking at some properties on the development and Dan will be going to Lancaster University this autumn,” said Chris. The family moved to have an adventure and a fresh start, he added. “I used to live in Lancashire and we both felt that we wanted to do something new and challenging whilst young enough.”

They’ve all been made very welcome by their new neighbours. Sue said: “There is a lovely community feel to the development and it fits in well with the adjoining established communities. Our neighbours are lovely, ever so friendly and kind, the children of another family even baked us some amazing cakes, we love it here.”

The sale of the family’s old house covered the costs of their beautiful new home and they have all really appreciated the attention given to them from all the sales and site staff. Sue said: “We are hugely impressed with the sales and site team at Lightfoot Meadows. We are absolutely recommending and will continue to recommend David Wilson Homes.”

The family loves exploring their new surroundings with amazing rural walks where they are able to take in all of the local nature.

Chris said: “For us, buying a new house fits into our new start, our new adventure. It’s a real pleasure to come home and spend time in our lovely space.”

Located in an aspirational area of Preston, the homes at Lightfoot Meadows have been designed with modern family life in mind, features beautiful open plan living spaces.

With the countryside on its doorstep, the city of Preston less than five miles away and a number of ‘Good’ and ‘Outstanding’-rated schools nearby, Lightfoot Meadows could be the ideal setting to families looking to set down roots.

The current range of three- and four-bedroom homes for sale there range from £164,950 to £335,000. There are plenty of schemes house-hunters can use to help them when reserving a property at a David Wilson Homes development, including Help to Buy, Part Exchange and Movemaker, all designed to make the moving process that much simpler for buyers. There’s currently also a ‘thank you’ to NHS worker buyers with a scheme where the housebuilder pays a 5% deposit on their behalf.
